Why do I feel like at first they were just annoyed with the beasts, chased the foals but in the last panel they rejoiced because they now had a easily killed big game animal for meat. xD
Thus beginning the early days of domestication / livestock.

I assumed it was actually supposed to be ‘fear’ or ‘anger’ at being foiled by the giant protector for the human in the last panel but I like to be contrary on occasion.

With a sloping Neanderthal forehead, underbite tusks and lizard tail and scales/feathers instead of fluff cause it’s not finished evolving.
