Depends entirely on whether or not they actually attempted to connect any of the vital organs- when one of the two original Siamese twins passed away, his brother followed him within a few hours as they shared a liver ( which is on display at the Mutter Museum in Pennsylvania if anyone is curious! ). If they literally just sewed a dead one onto a live one without even bothering to remove the fluff, it’ll probably be a few horrible days as the dead one festers and passes on an infection to the sutured areas.
Though now that I look at it, apparently they removed the two front legs and crudely attempted a replacement of those, so I’d give him about 24 to 48 hours for blood poisoning to set in.

In my mind, they stripped the skin off the back of the living one to connect the blood vessels of the now dead one, who was still alive at time of transplant. Art is subjective of course, so everyone’s interpretations are welcome <3

From pencils to this in about 30-45 minutes could have done a better job timing myself. Also that’s a great face the surviving fluffy is making like “aw enf wat hoomans do to fwuffy dis time?” mixed with the fear.
