Stopping by the work bench to pick up some supplies you lead Isaac and Phanes to the tree hollow roundabout. Nanny stood vigil with her back to the interior of the compound and viewing into the hollow as her head panned across the exterior fencing and hedges. “Nanny, this is Isaac and here’s a rundown.” You add producing a hollow tape to provide the basic information such as ‘when brain visible the unit is operated by smarty’ along with the command prompts to forcibly shift them to Isaac etc.
“Isaac, Nanny is your superior and you are to listen to her commands so long as they do not contradict my own when I am present. Power stations over there when you need a recharge.”
“Understood/acknowledged.” The two robots replied at the same time.
“Now, lets introduce you to~” You add looking around and see that Phanes had already made his way over to the tree hollow and was chatting with Durum.
“Hewwo, am Phanes. Sowwy for be meanie eawwiah.”
“Duwum undewstand. 'ou twy to pwotect hewd buh hab bad smawty.” For a moment you thought you heard Isaacs eyes refocus either angrily or as if twitching. “Phanes wan be Nyu fwiend?”
“Yus, Phanes wike dat.” You smile a bit while setting down the wood and tools.
“I see you’re not wasting time it seems.” As you say this Nanny is leading Isaac around the culdesac to a building behind the hollow tree. “Durum, Phanes is one of daddy’s new fluffies. Please Explain the rules to Phanes and Phanes please explain the situation with the smartys punishment.”
“O’tay.” The two replied in unison. You were curious if fluffies better understood instructions explained by their own kind so this would be interesting to see.
As the two chatted you set to work laying out the frame for a doghouse, or in this case a fluffy house in case Daisy and Durum thought their foals were too little to nap with other fluffies etc. After some internal debate you decided that it would be placed left of the entrance with its entrance facing inward towards the tree hollow for aesthetics. If you needed to you’d add a second to the right and do the same there later.
You couldn’t hear the whole discussion over the various sawing and hammering but you did pause at some point as you heard smarties voice complaining about cleaning up ‘nu-nu stickies’. You chuckled realizing the task that Nanny had assigned her recent subordinate. “Hmm, wonder if I should paint it?” You ponder for a moment aloud as you look into the tree hollow. Inside Daisy is showing off the foals and explaining that her Red unicorn was her ‘wittwest babbeh’ and her white baby was ‘Boff pointy and wingy!’ Phanes seemed impressed but not shocked like Daisy was which had you curious.
“Phanes. This is your house,” You add patting the pet home. “If Daisy or Durum don’t want you in their nest you don’t have to go to your house but you can’t stay in there. Understand?”
“Phanes undewstand, sometime famiwy nee’ awone time.” He adds nudging Durum who pushes back as Daisy blushes a bit.
As Nanny returns to watch you stand up. “It’ll be dark soon. If im not back to say goodnight then I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Bye daddeh!” The fluffies wave in unison as the foals peep and chirp curiously from the excitement of the fluffies around them.
You head to the right around the rounding road and into the first building. The inside of this restructured house bordering the farm area was mostly bare save for a series of Eyebot carriers next to each window and the door. These units were designed to search out scrap but you set to work with a few tweaks so that they could locate creatures and provide coordinates of sightings.
You record a synthesized voice over some gentle music and load the holotapes up into the eyebots before setting them to search for fluffies. One searching in the general cardinal directions and a fifth to patrol the island itself and then the immediate shores before coming back to patrol the island again. And so the eyebots fly. If this tactic worked you might install a few more of these at your various settlements to get decent map coverage.
“Looking for a safe place? Need nummies? Just follow the floating ball to Sanctuary Hills where we’re looking for good fluffies. If you have a soon mummah or a friend with hurties you cant move just ask the ball for help and we’ll send someone over.”
