Could be both. Baby “splore”s, takes a wrong turn, finds a human who hates fluffies and/or loves abuse, human hammers baby on purpose.

The hammer to the fluffy’s head is best done directly in front of the mother, while its praising its foal for being “a gud babbeh”. You let the mother finish her ridiculous speech about how smart the foal is for stacking one block, or doing some confused dance. Then Whack!, and you watch the expression on the mare’s face. You’re talented if you have psychologically abused the mare enough to have her take the blame for the foal’s death, and apologize to you. Extra points if you then get her to eat the dead foal because its made a mess on your floor.
