i dumped a friend who kept burning their snakes like this because they were stupid enough to think more heat = more energy. snakes are ambush predators, they don’t fucking do anything no matter how warm it is. idiot wanted them to chase a ball or whatever and kept adding more lamps and heating pads. i damn near strangled them

You could burn them to death, or you could take them out just before. Heal up their burns, give them just enough food and water to live, and repeat. I wonder how many times they can endure the warmies bawks…

she, actually. and im fairly certain she heard “reptiles thermoregulate with their environment” and understood that to mean “reptiles are solar powered, and solar powered means heat=energy.”

i say this bc she thought plants went to sleep when you moved them out of the light, which with context im fairly certain referred to them going comatose from a lack of energy… but i guess that’s just “sleeping” to her.

so… i guess she thought reptiles were plants?
