This makes me want to write something where a foal keeps getting messed with like this by his owner and ssid owner keeps saying it’s an accident and the baby just keeps walking into these obvious set ups to be abused. But to the point get work as always 10 out of 10!

Yeah. Probably intentional (ie, setting it up to be punished for making a mess) or stupid (“Didn’t think that far ahead.”). Hard to tell with humans in fluffy stories.
