Little Fatty is back with some notes from Rusty:
"When the shelter first called me about him, I was afraid that Little Fatty was a sensitive foal and would have to be put down. He weighed almost twice what a colt his size should! But after he ate and was reassured, he became curious about his new surroundings instead of crying for his mother. "
“I slowly reduced his food intake from what he was used to down to what was healthy. When he first arrived, Little Fatty could only wiggle his limbs instead of using them to shuffle or push himself around. His body was too heavy to move and he became tired after minimal effort. After a couple of days of very light exercise and better food portions, he started using his front hooves to drag himself around a bit. He’ll figure out the back legs soon.”
“With Spot’s help, I teach every foal that I wean to not be scared of water. It’s too much to expect my cat and Spot to constantly be cleaning a chirpy, so I use baby wipes throughout the day and one bath daily. The water is lukewarm and very shallow with a cloth on the bottom for traction. I NEVER leave a chirpy unattended in a bath.”
…
(art’s gonna be messy for a bit, I had to replace my drawing tablet and the new one hasn’t shipped yet)
