Memory (Myrayray)

A little backstory for ya

This memory is before Alex came in the picture, and when Martha wasn’t her name.

Her name before was…Delilah, owned by a rich breeder and expected when she was to come of age to join in the line of producing high quality foals.

When she reached the age of conception, the owners bred her relentlessly with nothing but smarties, she could tell because of their attitude and could smell them a mile away. She never kept any of her foals and she was okay with that, they smelled sort of funny anyway.

She was on her 5th litter when the owners started to notice she wasn’t producing as high enough quality as her siblings. Sure some foals had curly fur, spots, and brilliant colors…but none of them were alicorns, which was what they were aiming for.

All her siblings could produce alicorns, why couldn’t she? Delilah was given a choice, whether she produced alicorns, or she would take forever sleepies. This in turn scared the mare, she didn’t know what to do, so that night she ran away, away from the family that gave her “love” with nothing but smarties as special friends, even her siblings became smarties! It’s like everyone was a smarty!!

She ran as fast as she could, ending up in an unfamiliar part of town, it was more open ranged and less chaotic than the bustling province she lived in. Sure she could cry about missing home, the warmth, the food, but she cried because she felt as though she wasn’t enough.

Her crying attracted the sound of a worried pegasus stallion, a big one at that. He was yellow with a toned body, his hair long and red, he had little formations on his cheeks (freckles) that complimented his big blue eyes.

The two hit it off, she could smell that he was different, he smelled…relaxing and caring…like basking in the sunshine surrounded by tulips. His name was Braxton, he was a farm helping fluffy. He was respectable, kind, and was ready to help her, he even brought her to his owner.

Delilah enjoyed this new life, it was quaint, and away from the expectations of babbehs or smarties. Of course as months go by, Delilah was entirely infatuated with Braxton, they were eachothers one true pair. He would bring her roses which she mistook as nummies, but he ate them with her anyway.

They had a little family, her first alicorn and 2 pegasus. They were absolutely perfect, one of them even looked like Braxton. But she loved them all equally.

The farmer was no doubt absolutely delighted at the news and of course, was ready to sell them, though he felt like he couldn’t just separate the family, so he decided to give it a nights rest to think it over…

…than it happened…

A large smarty herd marched their way onto the farm, eating and destroying all they could find. It was no surprise that they wanted this land, and nothing was going to stop them.

Braxton was the first to wake up and defend his love and babbehs, he stood up proudly and approached them away from his love and asked the smarties to leave. Of course this didn’t bode well so Braxton decided to fight.

He managed to get a few smarties away as he chased them off the farm, only this was a trap. A trap that would lead to his unfortunate death (what happened is up to you).

The weather was muggy and soon it started to rain, fluffies hated the water so many of them ran for indoors or hid under plants. Some of them ran where Delilah was sleeping with her foals and their screams awoke the panicked mummah.

All she could hear were screams of munstah babbehs, the mares immediately started to stomp whilst still screaming, unfortunately they managed to hurt one, causing Delilah to hurriedly scoop her peeping foals onto her back and run into the rain.

She called out for her special friend, Braxton, but there was no answer. She walked along the hedge fencing at the border of the farm and smelled something…weird…it smelled like…boo boo juice?

She turns the corner and sees something yellow and mangled all over the grass, upon further inspection her heart shattered into pieces. Braxton was gone, there was no light left in his eyes and Delilah knew this. She started to back away.

A smarty, red in color, body slams the mare from the side, causing her to drop her peeping foals. She yells in dismay quickly trying to shield the babbehs with her body. The smarty crushed the injured foal, watching as its organs exploded from its face upon the smarty’s weight.

Delilah screamed and picked up the dead foal, the smarty stomps his hoof and demands she join his herd. She refuses, this of course angers the smarty as he wrangles the next babbeh out of her shield of a body, dangling it by its tail in his mouth and slamming it onto the ground.

Delilah’s eye twitched, she felt as though tears weren’t enough to express her anguish. The smarty once again demands she join him…she yells at him, still refusing. The smarty rams into her once more, breaking her barrier of safety for her little yellow alicorn.

He takes the opportunity to aggressively stomp and yell that there would be no munstah babbehs in his herd, and they would have better ones. There was no more chirping, no more peeping, just dead silence except for the smarty’s heavy breathing and the pitter patter of rain.

Something snapped within her, she hadn’t had time to process the death of her foals, the death of her love, all she felt was rage, rage, RAGE. She couldn’t remember what happened, but she remembers the screams, the smell of boo boo juice.

The powerful feeling of impaling something with her horn, it was all just a big blur. She trudged away from the scene, sulking and covered in boo boo juice. She didn’t look at where she was going, just walked away from everything. She decided to stop for a moment to rest, her chest heaving from her actions and the upcoming sob that was bubbling within her.

She wailed like no other fluffy could, it sounded almost human in a way, normally fluffies would huu in dismay, but this was pure despair. She kept this up until her voice gave out, her body finally collapsing from the adrenaline and everything was dark.

When she awoke, she was blinded by fluorescent lights. She had no idea where she was or what she was smelling but she detected something…sweet? It smelled like honey and sunflowers, it was a heavenly smell. She felt comfort in this as she takes a deep breath, her ear twitching from hearing footsteps approaching her.

A woman with soft eyes and short black bobbed hair leaned down towards her level, when she smiled she had a gap between her teeth.

“Hey little one, I’m Alex~”

Her holy crusade against smarties must never end for what they have taken from her. I wish her only success.

The art is competent and clean, which is nice.

To lift a grown male over her head like that would require strength past that of a bull, proportionately. We’re looking at some kind of super fluffy here. One with a sense of smell that can discern moral character in new fluffies she meets. What’s up with that? Is she from Krypton?

I want to believe that it is a combination of a very high dose of adrenaline and a stallion that was not at his best in terms of weight (a season of little food), and we do not see the consequences, she could be a long time in recovery after this extreme act.
Of course, the author has the last word, but I like to propose an alternative.

Does the adrenaline also explain her ability to smell morals?

Delilah is absolutely amazing, wow!

Yeah unfortunately because of all the strain from the adrenaline and using all her strength it has caused some damage to any future litters if she were to have any.

Some would be lucky to be alive or if she goes in long term but the trauma will force her body into distress mode and force the litter to collapse in on itself before coming out.

She was just born with a remarkable sense of smell, not sure if it was a bio mistake but it’s almost like she can see into the programming of other fluffies, only subtly, just enough to see behavioral traits. :two_hearts:

Sounds like quite a power fantasy you’ve got going on there.

All I can say is that it thew my suspension of disbelief out the window. An eleventh story window.
