“There we go! Now, let’s go back in your little ball-housie, okay?” Blork said to the little microfluffy in her palm.
“Nick WUB nyu name!” he repeated again, his one-track mind churning with excitement at his new mummah he had just met. He still cooperated, though, carefully climbing back in through that opening and landing in the soft, artificial snow that filled the bottom of the ornament.
“Can Nick meet nyu bwuddah nao, pwease Mummah?” he asked, sitting down in the snow and nestling in to get comfortable.
“Of course! That’s where we’re going now,” she told him, carrying the little ornament and the cap over to her tiny saferoom.
“Oz, honey! I have a special surprise for you!”
The little blue-orange fluffy came running over, flying out of the little cardboard paper towel roll he was playing in, eyes wide as he came to a skidding stop in front of her. He could see something in Mummah’s hand, but he wasn’t sure what it was!
“Was’ dat, mummah! A pwesent, fow Oz?” He sat up on his hind legs, lifting the others toward her hand as she leaned in.
“A very special present. I got you a new brother! This is Nick, sweetie. Why don’t you come inside and say hello and give him some huggies?” she suggested, lowering the little glass globe down and making a little slope with her hand for him to climb in.
The two micro-fluffies locked eyes instantly, mouths agape with aww.
“Nyu bwuddah?!” Nick exclaimed, clapping his hooves together as he watched Nick climb in, rushing in and giving him a hug as the two rolled onto their sides in the soft snow.
“YUS! NYU BWUDDAH! WAN PWAY! WAN GIB WOTS O’ HUGGIES!” Oz was ecstatic, having wanted this for many, many forevers. A sibling to love, to play with, to curl up with for sleepy times.
The two played in the soft, powdery snow for a few minutes, excitedly repeating each other’s names and pausing for huggies until Blork tapped on the glass again to get their attention, the pair hugging tightly but both turning their heads to give her their full attention.
“Can you two play with a special ball for me? I want to take a picture?”
“Otay, mummah!”
“Yus, mummah! Wewe baww?”
“Right here,” she told them, slipping a little jingle bell in with them, letting it plop into the snow. The two rolled, or rather, pushed it back and forth between eachother as cooperatively as they could, laughing and giggling the whole time as she screwed on the top, hanging the ornament onto the tree and lining up the shot…
