Miscellaneous Headcanons (by Pushka)

Just a place for me to put some shorter headcanons that don’t fit into any of my other posts.

  • Fluffy fur is extremely similar to polyester. The only tell that it isn’t true polyester is the fact that it’s biodegradable and completely non-toxic.

  • Pre-revamp fluffy bones were extremely similar to plastic, though like with their fur, were biodegradable and non-toxic. People who dissected fluffies noted the extremely smooth texture of the bones.

  • Post-revamp fluffy bones are somewhat more durable, but still have the smooth texture. (They are still biodegradable and non-toxic, of course.)

  • The bones of fluffies both pre-revamp and post-revamp are naturally colored a stark, pure white (unlike the bones of most real animals, which are naturally more of an off-white).

  • The “wan die” stage isn’t necessarily permanent, but often is in most cases it appears in due to the irreversible circumstances that caused it. In situations where the cause is something that can be reversed, the fluffy can and often does recover.

  • With very few exceptions, due to their innate love to run and play, pillowfluffs are never happy fluffs. Unless the fluffy was born without legs (and thus knows no difference), a pillowfluff will typically reach the “wan die” stage in a month or less. Thus, if amputation is medically necessary, those who can’t afford transplants or prosthetics for their fluffy typically opt to have them humanely euthanized to spare them the suffering.

  • A fluffy pillowed for non-medical reasons will always end up reaching the “wan die” stage. No fluffy pillowed for non-medical reasons has ever lived a full and happy life unless rescued and given new legs.

  • In fluffies that have color bias, brown fluffies are not the only colors discriminated against; beige, gray, and other dull colors are as well. But only brown fluffies are called “poopie” due to color-biased fluffies’ association of the color brown with poop; the others are simply called “ugwy” or “nu-pwetty”.

Would fluffies be nutritious in your world, like for wildlife?

Yes, which is why they thankfully don’t become a plague on the environment.
Ferals in non-urban environments tend to be picked off fairly quickly by predators, assuming they don’t die due to accidents or their own stupidity.
And thankfully, though there are a lot of them, there aren’t quite enough of them to prevent predators from eating their natural prey (and specialist predators won’t eat them at all).

putting this here because I have no idea how to incorporate it into a story.
secretly the genetics of fluffies is bullshit. a unicorn, pegasus, earthie, or alicorn are each as likely to produce any of the above. coloration of shit on puke, bright vibrant full saturations, or gleaming gold on sparkling alabaster are each as likely to produce any of the above (inclusive). a demanding bitch mill sow, a pristine domestic with perfect manners, and a half mad feral who’s traded etiquette for survival are each as likely to produce any of the above (inclusive) with the exception that their parenting style will reflect in the foals personality. regardless of this people still insist on tracking these metrics and have deluded themselves into thinking they can follow the madness and force a perfect profit curve. they believe this because humans enjoy gambling and will take the feeling of the win over the hard evidence every time.

Cool, but I made this post for my own miscellaneous headcanons. I just thought it was probably too short to put in Text Posts. ^^;

What’s the average lifespan of a fluffy that’s run away from home in a big city (like New York, or San Francisco)

Usually a few weeks at most. Runaway fluffies tend to be spoiled, so they’re completely unprepared for the harsh realities of life on the streets.

Is that a median or a mean?

I don’t know. I’m not good with math. XD

Now i wonder how many survive less than a few minutes if they run across the road right out the front door and a car comes by
