I like to think when it gets near the birthing process the mom starts to expand a bit more to get ready for the birth
This is juuuust right. Though I will say it looks like she’s laying on a pile of disembodied doll hands in the last image.
It’s cute, and sad. The straw in her nest looks like the hands of the dead clawing at her undercarriage, so I had to do double-take.
