One of my favorite scenarios in a post-apoc/zombie situation is how high-rises interact with each other, or at least become self-sufficient and keep people out. Bridges, hydroponics, and using what little light, balconies and open-air you can become really challenging, along with the idea of, for outsiders, being “too difficult to explore while also not commanding any attention.”

The most “press X to doubt” moment. A mystery one light only in a tall tower.
In my post apocalyptic lore a mysterious fog will roll in time to time, some cities will have a siren ringing when it comes and doors and windows are locked and barricade. You can hear noises outside walkin and tapping few deep groaning. Power would flicker then once the fog left or dissipated everyone can come out.
