Likely near a flood plain too since fluffies don’t think about this sort of thing.
Seems legit.
Many fluffies foolishly play and frolic right up until the first days of winter, and try to take refuge in already existing burrows. If theyre lucky, they’ll be welcomed into another fluffy’s burrow who isnt afflicted with smarty syndrome (who would give them sorry hoofs till they leave) if theyre really unlucky, they will stumble upon the burrow of a fox or badger and will be violently dispatched for waking the cranky creature.

Oh God… I remember this book.

I would think a fluffy would have trouble digging around tree roots. Now if that was an abandoned burrow, I could see that.
