New Fwiend? (By Jack_Jack)

Binky is a good fluffy with the prettiest brown fur and seaweed-green mane that a fluffy could have. He doesn’t have any leggies that allow him to run and play like all the other fluffies do but he has all the huggies and love a fluffy could want and a pair of wings that he could use to fly. His mummah is one of the sweetest humans he’s ever met in his twelve years of life. She’s a young woman in her early twenties with chestnut hair and a beaming smile that’s contagious to everyone who sees it. Her name was Angelica but was playfully referred to as Angie.

Pillowfluffs are one of the more bizarre concepts to come from the Fluffy Pony line and one that Hasbio themselves doesn’t openly endorse. The unusual physiology of a fluffy makes “pillowing” something that can be done to them compared to other quadrupeds. Most of the time it’s done because of issues with the joints or legs. Fluffies have very stubby legs and Standard Fluffy Ponies have it the worst. It’s not unusual for their legs to be rendered useless by the time they reach an older age.

Such is the case for Binky. He lived a long life filled with love but love doesn’t fix age and it was taking its toll on him. One day Binky woke up and his legs no longer listened. Amputation followed shortly after. He didn’t take it well at first and spent everyday hu-huuing at the lack of things he could do.

Angelica hated seeing this for her little fluff and made sure to shower him with all the love and affection she could give. He had his little blankie that covered his tubby body all the way and kept him warm. Everytime she put it on he would giggle and proclaim, “Wub bwankie!” He got fed a healthy diet with an extra special serving of spaghetti. A must have for any fluffy pony.

One thing Angelica noticed with Binky was that he loved to be placed next to the window at the front of her house. He loved looking at the people walking by and watching what other animals were up to. What she didn’t know was that Binky had taken a liking to the nice mister across the street. Every day the lights would turn on in the house across the street at around the same time. There was something about the nice mister that made Binky enjoy watching him. Maybe it was the way he did things so predictably that gave him a sense of comfort. Fluffies were known to like predictable and repetitive routines. It’s part of why their playtime involved the same activities over and over like stacking blocks. The motion of the stacking, sounds of each block connecting, and the very predictable routine gives them a sense of comfort.

Binky knew that he could reliably sit near the window and watch the nice mister as he did his usual routine of watering plants, watching tv, and even sometimes waving to binky! Binky wished he had arms to wave with but he had a feeling the nice mister could see even if he never acknowledged the fluffy’s presence.

It became evident to Binky after over a week of watching this nice mister that the mystery man didn’t have a special friend. That’s when he got an idea. His mummah didn’t have a special friend. Maybe he could have them meet each other and he would finally have a mummah and a daddeh. Everybody would be happy. The thought made him so happy that his little stubs happily wiggled in an uncanny way that most would describe as unsettling.

One day he made sure to make as much noise as he could so his mummah could get a good look at what might become his new daddeh. Surely his mummah would see the nice mister’s pretty black head fluff and fall for him. That’s how it always worked for fluffies.

“MUMMAH MUMMAH! WOOK MUMMAH! NICE MISTAH OUSSIDE!” He frantically shrieked while flailing his little stubs.

Angelica ran into the room with her face covered in flour from baking. “What is it, Binky? Are you okay?”

”BINKY AM GUD, MUMMAH! BU SEE NICE MISTAH OUSSIDE! HE AM SUU PWETTY!”

Angelica’s eyebrows furrowed at what her fluffy just said. As far as she was aware, fluffies were only attracted to other fluffies and couldn’t be gay.

“Oh. Um. That’s nice.”

”PWEASE WOOK MUMMAH BEFO NICE MISTAH DISSPEAW!’

She made her way over to him while wondering if her fluffy had developed a crush while sitting by the window.

Binky’s face fell as the nice mister turned the lights off and walked away from the room he was always in. He did it just as soon as his mummah walked into the room and gently stroked his back with her delicate fingers.

“Where’s this ‘nice mister’ you want me to see, Binks?”

“Nebbamine. Nice mistah gu way.” He sounded so deflated as his face dropped into a frown.

What it was about this guy that made Binky so interested still confused his owner. She got on her knees and continued to scratch his back while looking at his face with a comforting smile.

”What is it about this guy, Binks? Does he wave to you or something?”

Binky sniffled. “Yus…Bu Binky jus tink dat. Dat mummah wan speciaw fwiend. Den Binky habe famiwy.”

Angelica fought back a light giggle and nuzzled her face into Binky’s side. “Oh, Binks. You’re so sweet, but I’m really not looking for a relationship. Not now or ever.”

Binky couldn’t believe what he was hearing. How could a mummah not want a special friend? That went against everything he knew. Everybody knew that a mummah had a special friend and from there they had babies. Maybe she had big heart hearties he wasn’t even aware of!

”HUU HUU HUUUUU!”

”What is it, Binky?” She took her fingers off of him for a few seconds and he burst out crying.

”MUMMAH HABE BIGGEST HEAWT HUWTIES! DAT WHY MUMMAH NO WAN SPECIAW FWIEND!”

Angelica opened her mouth to speak but couldn’t find a way to explain why she wasn’t seeking a relationship to Binky. Fluffies were far more delicate than children emotionally and mentally. There was no telling how he would interpret it.

“Don’t worry, Binky. Your mama never has heart hurties. And you know why?”

Binky’s chubby neck wrinkled as he tried to turn it to look at her.

”Why?”

”Because I have you, silly!”

She picked up Binky and gave him a light squeeze as he happily squealed in response. The brief moment of cuteness was interrupted by a buzzing in her pocket. Binky gently went back on his sitting spot and Angelica pulled out her phone. Looked like she had a text from Joel. A friend from high school who only texted her when he wanted to get to her sister, Danielle. Probably found another wounded animal.

“Hey, Angie! I found a pair of diseased fluffies outside my place. I tried texting your sister but you know how she is. Think you could give her a nudge and let her know what I’m working with?”

He also sent two pictures. There were two fluffies that looked absolutely revolting. A light green fluffy with a yellow mane that looked pretty wispy. Everything else about her was so disgusting that Angelica couldn’t look at it too long. The other was of an emaciated white fluffy with a black mane. His cheeks sagged on the sides of his face. Both were rather ugly, to be blunt. But it was sweet to see Joel actually caring about a pair of fluffies. He always gave off an air of disgust towards them every time he saw one babbling away at a park or on a walk with its owner.

”Yeah sure,” was all she texted back.

“All right. Time to give you a nice warm bath, Binky.”

”Teeheehee! Wub gud upsies and wawm baffsies!” Binky giggled. She loved how he squealed and giggled everytime she picked him up. His little belly would jiggle every time and she could never get enough of it. Right before taking him upstairs, Angelica looked outside to see who this guy was and remembered that the house had been vacant for a while now since the last owners left. It concerned her a little but she brushed off any uncomfortable thoughts by believing that Binky was just using his imagination to conjure up images of the mystery man. Fluffies were known for having very strong imaginations after all.

12 years? Binky is ancient! I have a theory I’ll keep to myself, since I don’t want to unintentionally spoil something if I’m right
