I’d keep smarty in the bucket and give his special friend an ultimatum. Kill him and she’ll earn herself and her babies a warm housie, skettis, etc., refuse and she’ll live out in the cold with smarty and her babies till they die from the cold.
The catch is that the only way she’s allowed to kill him is by filling the bucket he’s in with shit.
