Play time for Raspberry (TraeStone)

Second try at fluffy art. This one gives me an idea for something a little meaner.

Wow dude. Compared to your first try, the difference is night and day.

This is superb. Keep it up, I wanna see where this goes.

Yay! Thank you so much! I took some inspiration from the Buwwito comics that first got me into fluffies.

Looks good! Love the colored pencil look. A unique, hand-drawn style is always a pleasure! :sunglasses::+1::two_hearts:

Agreed with all of the above :+1: You already have a good grasp on shading, and I can’t think of many folks here that do colored pencil backgrounds ~

I was thinking about the orange from your first piece, and I don’t see why you couldn’t work that into the harder edges of fluff, like ear tufts and hoof fringe, maybe highlights. There are so many iridescent and patterned fluffs, I don’t see why that would break any rules if you added that to your style

Here you go… an oldie with a twist, for your trouble:

The orange was meant to be a bow in her mane. I dropped it for this one not just because of the confusion but I just got frustrated trying to make it look not-stupid in profile.

I’ve never learned digital art. I’m entirely traditional media, mostly coloured pencils. Never been to school either so I’m entirely self-taught. I appreciate all you folk calling out my first attempt. My skin may not be the thickest but I really do want to get better at art.

This is the kind of attitude I wish more people had. So many new artists, especially in this community, are willing to give up and ragequit at the first sign of criticism. People like you, who actually take it and learn from it, are the kind of people this community needs more of.

That’s a good attitude to have. It’ll take you further than all the lessons and tutorials in the world.
