And I will say that all this aside your animation really is lovely.

I dont want you to be discouraged from making your art, just to understand where the others’ concerns are coming from

And what are fluffies supposed to be? What are they always depicted as? My Little Pony-esque horses with chimeric DNA. Horses. If it’s not abuse, what’s the problem with a rotoscoped fluffy pony? And I understand somewhat, but at the same time, if my animation inspires someone to make animal abuse content, then go after them, not me. Dont try to censor me because of others’ possible actions. I’m not responsible for what others do. Again, it’s like holding Scott Cawthon personally responsible for every piece of Five Nights At Freddy’s cartoon porn on the internet.

And TOYS. Fluffies are mlp inspires toys made life. Mlp was never meant to resemble real horses and a fictional company that would want to make fluffies would make them more toy like than horse like, otherwise people would just get a horse.

Look, at the end of the day you can do whatever you want, im just one gal and im not going to run in circles going back and forth with you

And yet, just reading and looking at some of the fluffy content on here, it’s very clear that fluffies being “just toys” is a legal fallacy, something that the laws about fluffies never caught up with, because aside from a few small things, there’s not much difference between a fluffy and an average pet/animal. If anything, fluffies should have more rights than animals in Fluff-Canon, seeing as fluffies can communicate in human-ish speech and can show definitive evidence of thinking, having wants and needs and dreams and hopes. But, again, the law hasn’t caught up to realizing that. It’s a very clever allegory for other things the law hasn’t caught up with in real life. It’s kind of like the laws surrounding owning animals- sure, Fido was your best friend. To Johnny Law, he was only your property.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t make sense to be so concerned about rotoscoped short fat horse abuse when I’ve literally seen some of the worst cartoon gore from the fluffy community, including foal rape and violent cannibalism. Yall just dont wanna admit that if fluffies were real, they would probably have the same rights as animals do and some of yall would be labeled horrific animal abusers.

Ok this convo is getting way too heated, let’s all calm the fuck down

Well, is there anything I’ve said that’s wrong here?

I’ll review the full chat later, I’m at work right now

Im not talking about fluffies being toys as an excuse for abuse reason, but as a whole concept around their initialconception. I like to think of it like happy tree friends where a lot of the shock value and comedy of fluffies is revolved around being these cute little make believe dudes but oops, all gore! But that being said I DO think there is some fun potential around the fluffies given rights thing.

Well, if you’re gonna treat it like HTF, treat it like HTF and let people have fun with it. Ive read some horrific fanfics and fan comics of HTF too, but I’ve never gone out of my way to try to police another grown person’s actions or creations due to how someone with less brain cells than an average human may react to/be inspired by those actions/creations. Like, c’mon people, we’re all over 18, right? Let’s use common sense.

I dont want to police you, if anything I think your animation is very well done, I just wanted to explain the other side of this debacle and my view on it. I CAN see a bit of where Rampage is coming from. I dont think it’s anything to get worked up over, just that I understand the main hang up. Also, I apologize in advance if any of my comments came off as rude, I dont mean to come off that way.

Same, I apologize to both you and @Rampage if I came off as rude, I’m just proud of the work I put into my art and it sucks to spend hours on something just to be told “oh you shouldnt post this because even though it doesn’t really break site TOS or anything, it might make other people think they can break TOS!” You know? It’s stupid, especially coming from the community that built a lot of it’s own reputation for being +18 with things like pillowing, milkbagging, smarty stomping, blatant abuse and neglect that would be unthinkable on other species, even fictional depictions. Why do you think I dont do much abuse art and even the abuse art i have done isnt overtly gory or gross? Because, it makes me feel bad to abuse most fluffies, just like it would make me feel bad abusing most animals. One of the main differences between a fluffy and say, a dog, aside from speaking English, is that most dogs dont have the brain capacity for spite, and even the ones that do dont have the capacity to be openly, consistently malicious. I’ve seen many, many works where fluffies have the capacity to be exactly that: openly and consistently malicious. If there’s a grown ass person on here that cannot differentiate between fiction and reality to the point that a single rotoscoped animation leads them to create actual animal abuse content, then they need to not be on this website at all and need their internet access heavily monitored by a caregiver.

That is a very cute horse animation! I think you rotoscoped it a bit too faithfully though, since it truly does look like “chubby lil foal” rather than “fluffy”. In-universe fluffies were made to appeal to kids, so instead of thinking “pony”, think “that doofy-ass unicorn plushie from Despicable Me”. Y’know, this thing.

As for the giant argument thing about animal abuse - it is, sadly, a rule written in blood. I understand being upset, but we do in fact give iffy glances at other artists who depict the fluffies as too horsey-like or other animal-like too, even if it’s not abuse content. It may seem like a strange thing to you, but … well. It is a slippery slope we’ve done our best to fence off to avoid repeating certain tragedies.

If nothing else, you can think of it as a caution for future content of this kind - this one was cute and innocent, but don’t ever try to rotoscope a horse racing accident or something. I hope you keep making stuff like this, just gotta tweak the proportions to be more fluffy-like!

Too horse like. Just a mini horse chasing a ball.

It’s done well don’t get me wrong, but not a fluffy.

Not enough pig, hamster, or rat.

The point of fluffys is to be cartoonish and fictitious. Not real animals. Also a Chimera is made of several animals not just one.

Of course, I’m not stupid enough to ever rotoscope actual abuse. My whole point is, mine isnt abuse, I dont do really any abuse content at all, I have one picture of a milkbagged mare.

This feels like a case of not properly moderating things, because if you truly feel like someone in this 18+ community of grown adults would have such troubles differentiating between reality and fiction that a rotoscoped technicolor horse would lead them to create abuse content of real animals, then you need to report whoever that is to the moderators of the site.

Following the logic you’re giving me for the fluffy looking “too horse-like”, why not critique every artist who gives the fluffies “realistic colors/patterns”? Since those are usually based off of…. You know….. real horses?

And also, Earthie fluffies just look exactly like what their species says they are: fluffy ponies. Any average Joe Schmoe from off the street would assume a fluffy pony without wings or horns is just a stupid little pony. It’s not an animation of an interior look at the fluffy’s DNA structure, is it? No. I think it looks fine and perfectly fluffy enough. You can’t see DNA from the outside.

Oh, no, that’s not what happens. What happens is that a lot of people think we’re actual animal abusers, and so, real animal abusers think they’re in good company here. That is something we do not want, which is why we are so vigilant over anyone depicting fluffies as resembling a real-life animal too closely. If fluffies become commonly depicted as looking like real ponies - which we’ve had to push back against several times - then suddenly we’re just getting art of MLP abuse, then real life horse abuse.

Painting racing stripes on myself does not make me a car, no matter how much I wish it would.
