Pwettie Fow wun Bwite-Time Comic TEASER (By: vaccine)

I introduce a teaser for a new comic. This sketch is page 3/?? of a comic that I have been wanting to make for a while.

I definitely did not let the praise of my previous comic go to my head and I would never, ever, ever tackle a project that much too large for my skillset. If I burnout, you have permission to dox/stalk me, beat me bloody, hack me apart with axes and end my bloodline.

On a serious note, I was blown away by this communities reaction to my previous topic. You guys are awesome and encourage me to keep making art <3

P.S.

Art GODS, what you see here is three layers in PS. The background, borders, and the sketch. When I color this, I will make a new layer under the sketch and color everything by hand with the pencil tool until I go insane. Wishful thinking, but is there a better way to color shit? Specifically not having to play ‘color within the lines’ for every object and detail. If you know any tips at all, lemme know :love_you_gesture:

I love how fat they are

Good expressions, neglect is one of my favourite themes.

Fluffies have a confusing metabolism. On one hand, they seem to always be hungry. On another, they tire very quickly and are very lethargic compared to real animals.

Coming from you, that means a lot. I adore the expressions you can make in 3D. Your “Talking Pigs” piece is one of the reasons I’m learning 3D.

This looks promising! Great job so far!

Magic wand tool. The exact appearance of the icon varies between programs, but here’s the paint shop icon:

Should be right by the other selection tools. What this baby does is that it selects everything within a certain area, based on how big the contrast is. AKA if you pick that tool and then click on the fluffies, you can just insta-color them all with the paint bucket tool:

Bam! All selected and colored in a jiffy. But, oh… it doesn’t quite reach the edges and it looks like shit…

Easy to solve. After selecting the things you want to color in, go to this option. Selections → Modify → Expand.

Then expand by … however many pixels you need. I picked 2.

Alright! Much better! Still not perfect, a few pieces didn’t get colored in. But just include those with the lasso selection tools or draw them in with the pencil tool afterward, which - suffice to say - is much less painful than doing everything in pencil tool, and …

Voila! All nicely colored in, with no pain and minimal fuss!

Hope this helps you out!

This was extremely helpful, thank you

If you want an easier way, and don’t mind using another program to do one thing with it (maybe two if you want to shade in it too), you can use this video on fast coloring.

“why is the poopie babbeh so fat?”

This is a question you may have, which I have as well.

The honest answer is I jedi flip through styles constantly and I like to draw what people like, which is fat little chungus babbehs. I wouldn’t know where to start with drawing an emaciated foal. Maybe 2 curves like this ‘) (’ under their eyes to show sunken cheeks. I saw a post from @Baron_Trump titled “Chirpeh Sketch” (don’t know how to make the title of a work a link! (newfag!!!)) which was a wonderful depiction of foal bone structure.

My cope answer I’ll pretend is lore is that fluffies have terrible digestion by design. They might absorb 20% of what they eat and the rest passes right through them. This makes sense considering why they are always hungry despite eating calorie dense kibble and human fast food waste. Thus their poop has a lot of calories, and despite tasting disgusting, is a crude substitute for normal food.

A beggar’s meal of moldy ramen and egg rolls between a small herd would make for a large pile of crap, which would be an equivalent feast to a dedicated poopie. This may even be a source of contempt for fluffies as they see the poopie as “big and strong” while they are starving. In reality he’s a bloated, sickly, miserable poopie who should be mercy killed.

Anyway, I should probably stop procrastinating. Happy New Years!

Oh! :glee: Your style is so pretty!

I do hope that poopie gets taught a valuable lesson for allowing itself to be huggied like that. :gotsketties: could of been used on such a nicer colored sibling.

it has poopies to hug and num, it has enough.

this is probably late, but as someone who isn’t especially familiar with the software-side of digital art

what i tend to do is duplicate my line-layer to a layer underneath my lines. ensure it’s all fully enclosed, and paint bucket that layer. your line layer stays nice and clear and dark. then just use your brushes or other techniques to give texture.

I’ve been having issues with lines not being properly enclosed, so this is actually very helpful! Thank you

what you can also do if you do not want black linework is drawing the silhouette of your shape with the basecolor you want and fill-in with that. add detail and texture from there. draw it in a layer above your sketchlayer as normal.

Seems like the story gonna be about a brother or sister foal that loves his poppie brother/sister. But his/her mother doesn´t like that, I really want to see how the story develops, it has a lot of potential.

:joy: thank you! This comic im treating as a project car as I post shorter comics and develop my skillz. I got something really special planned for our little poopie boy
