"Nu wowwy spechuw fwend!”
The green and orange fluffy pegasus stallion tries to sound cheerful as he pushes his heavily pregnant special friend down the sidewalk, away from the distant cacophony of screams, gunshots, sirens, explosions, and car alarms that echoe through the deserted street.
“Whew hoomins gu? Huuuu scawy…” The pink and red unicorm mare whines as she watches the deserted street go by. The stallion looks around and realizes she’s right, there’s not a human in sight. Even the metal munstahs seem to be asleep, he’s never seen the streets so quiet.
Suddenly the stallion spots a man running down the sidewalk towards them, and the stallion calls out to him. “Nice mistah! Pwease hewp fwuffy an’ soon-mummah spechuw fwend!” as the man continues running, yelling something the fluffies can’t hear as he disappears into the distance.
A police officer on a loudspeaker can faintly be heard in the distance “…to the riots in progress… …area will be closed off… …please proceed to…”
The announcement is interrupted by a line of RPD cruisers racing down the street, lights and sirens blaring. The stallion stops and futilely calls out to them from the sidewalk as they race past. “Pwease stop! Fwuffies nee hewp!”
A woman suddenly shambles into the street and the fluffies watch as a straggling cop car swerves to avoid her, smashing into a parked car in the process.
The loud crash and ensuing car alarm terrifies the mare, and she covers her ears and begins screaming. “SCREEEEE! Nu wike woud noisies! Bad fow tummeh-babbehs!”
The stallion goes to hug her but freezes as he hears strange moaning, and turns around to see the strange woman shambling towards them. The stallion gets into a defensive stance as the mare screams and shits herself in fear.
The stallion is terrified, but holds his ground as he trembles and yells defiantly “Gu 'way meanie munstah! Fwuffy nu wet ou huwt spechuw fwend!” As the woman lunges forward the stallion rears up and head-buts the woman’s leg.
Surpringly the force of the small fluffy is enough to knock the woman on her back, and she goes still as the stallion runs back to his immobile special friend. “It otay spechuw fwend! fwuffy gif munstah fowebah sweepies!”
The mare smiles “fank ou spechuw fwe-” the mare is interrupted by a loud groan and the fluffies turn around and look in terror as they see the woman slowly crawling towards them, the skin peeling off her half-rotted face.
“Nuuuu! Nu huwt soon-mummah an tummeh babbehs!” The mare screams as the stallion desperately starts rolling the mare away from the quickly approaching monster-like human.
Despite the stallion’s best effort the crawling woman quickly catches up to them. She almost catches his tail as she grabs at it, undeterred by the stream of scaredy poopies he releases as he continues desperately rolling his special friend away.
Just as she’s almost on top of them, the door of the crashed police car swings open and the bloodied officer falls out onto the street. The “munstah wady” quickly turns around and crawls towards him.
“No, get the fuck away!” A gunshot is energy as the stallion continues pushing the mare down the sidewalk, as the officers screams quickly die out.
After what seems like an eternity, the fluffies come to a small park. The stallion looks at the numerous trees and bushes and smiles.
“Wook spechuw fwend! Dis wook wike safe pwace fow nestie!” The mare smiles and happily hugs her special friend. “Fank ou fow keeping soon-mummah an tummeh-babbehs safies! Wuv spechuw fwend!”
The exhausted stallion rolls the mare under a bush and lays down next to her, not having the energy to make a better nest. The mare doesn’t seem to mind, and quickly snuggles with her beloved special friend as they drift off to sleep.
