The joke is that the guy in the image resets the universe, but due to plot flubbery instead of his perfect universe an alternate where the characters are the same but different is made instead.

Just recently re-read through the rejects and loved it. This redesign is awesome, are you thinking of continuing or rebooting the comic? I would love to see more!
