I’ve seen cats with that affliction.
They kinda wobble and keel over but generally seem to be fine.

Unfortunately, Scooter’s condition is a bit more serious and he lost all use of his back legs. So the sock is there to make it easier for him to slide around without hurting himself.
(He especially loves “drifting” on hardwood floors)
