SCP-6621 The Fluffies (Barrel2s1coool)

Item #: SCP-6621
Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-6621 instances, known colloquially as “Fluffies,” are to be contained in secure, climate-controlled enclosures suited for their small size and clumsy nature. The enclosures must be designed with soft bedding to support the Fluffies’ physical limitations, as they have stubby legs and soft hooves that make movement slow and difficult. Each enclosure is to include both food and water stations, as Fluffies require assistance with feeding due to their low intelligence. Fluffies should be housed individually to prevent unnecessary stress or conflict, though careful supervision is required if any group interactions are to occur.

A dedicated research area is maintained for experiments related to Fluffy communication (Fluffy Talk) and behavior. Only trained personnel are permitted to interact with Fluffies, as their emotional distress can result in them becoming overly attached to humans, potentially leading to attachment issues and behavioral consequences.

Description:
SCP-6621 refers to a species of anomalous creatures known as “Fluffies.” Fluffies are small, quadrupedal beings with characteristics resembling miniature ponies. The adult Fluffies are about the size of a domestic cat or Pomeranian (roughly 30-40 cm in length and 20-25 cm in height). Foals are much smaller, measuring approximately the size of a hamster (around 10–15 cm). Their bodies are chubby, with short but flexible necks, and stubby legs that are hindered by the excessive fluff, making them slow and clumsy.

Fluffies have large, expressive eyes, which can vary in color from blue, green, yellow, to rare colors like violet and amber. Their eyes feature tear ducts capable of producing tears, much like humans, either to express emotional distress or to clear their eyes. Fluffies also have a short snout, small mouth, and a chin, with a pair of ears that can either stand upright or droop, depending on emotional state.

The Fluffy’s hooves are made from soft cartilage rather than keratin, which makes them unsuitable for tasks such as digging or walking on sharp surfaces. Foals are even more delicate, having leathery “hoofpads” instead of hooves. Fluffies have low intelligence and speak using a unique lisp, known as “Fluffy Talk,” where they replace certain letters (e.g., “R” and “L” become “W”). This speech pattern is deeply ingrained and difficult to alter.

Fluffies exist in four distinct types: Earth Pony, Unicorn, Pegasus, and the rarest form, Alicorn (a combination of a Unicorn and a Pegasus). The distribution of these types within the population of SCP-6621 is uneven, with Earth Ponies being the most common, followed by Pegasi, Unicorns, and Alicorns.

Female Fluffies have a pair of teats (though some mares may have four), located between their hind legs, used for nursing their foals. The foals are born small and helpless, requiring constant care from their mothers or other Fluffies.

Discovery:
SCP-6621 was first discovered in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2024 when a civilian reported seeing small, colorful pony-like creatures in a public park. Upon investigation by Foundation personnel, several Fluffies were found and safely contained. The creatures appeared docile and were found to be living in a small community, with some exhibiting behavior resembling that of feral animals, while others were clearly domesticated and able to communicate with humans using their limited speech pattern.

It was determined that Fluffies had been able to reproduce in the wild, and possibly had a prior history of exposure to anomalous phenomena, as several of the creatures displayed characteristics not found in non-anomalous ponies (e.g., the presence of horns in the Unicorn and Alicorn types). Efforts to trace their origins continue, though initial investigations suggest the possibility of either a breeding program or an unknown anomalous event that led to their creation.

[BEGIN LOG]

Dr. Bright: Good morning, Fluffina. How are you today?
Fluffina: W-why am I here? Wh-where am I? W-want to be wif wittle fowwies!
Dr. Bright: I understand. You’re in a safe place right now, Fluffina. We’re just going to ask you a few questions, okay?
Fluffina: W-wawwy wittle fowwies! Fowwies w-want to pway wif mama! M-mama so sweeeeet.
Dr. Bright: I understand, Fluffina. We’ll get you back to your foals soon. But first, could you tell me where you came from? Do you remember?
Fluffina: W-we came fwom big fwuffy home… Fluffina’s face droops, teary-eyed. Fwuffy mama an’ dada make me wittle fowwies. Fowwies need mama.
Dr. Bright: Are you saying that you have other Fluffies like you?
Fluffina: Y-yes! Fwuffy mama big… big… fwuffy mama wif wittle fowwies, an’ wittle fowwies w-want mama pway… wittle pwaytime!
Dr. Bright: I see. Thank you, Fluffina. One more question. Do you know anything about other Fluffies or how you all came to be in this place?
Fluffina: Fwuffy mama no tell me… big p-pwace, but fwuffy… we come fwom sky? Maybew? Or big fwuffy humans. D-don’t know.
Dr. Bright: Alright, Fluffina. Thank you for your time. We’ll bring you back to your foals now.

Experiments:

  1. Test #001: Fluffy Emotional Responses
Fluffies were exposed to various emotional stimuli (sadness, joy, fear) to measure their reactions. Results showed that Fluffies exhibit exaggerated emotional responses. Sadness led to excessive crying, while joy triggered playful behavior such as hopping or rolling on the ground.
  2. Test #002: Fluffy Communication and Understanding
Fluffies were tested for their ability to understand and respond to simple commands. Their comprehension was limited, but they could follow basic instructions like “sit” and “stay” when given consistent positive reinforcement.
  3. Test #003: Fluffy Physical Capabilities
Fluffies were placed in environments with sharp or rough terrain to test their mobility. Due to their soft hooves and small stature, they struggled with anything other than flat, soft surfaces, often becoming distressed in unfamiliar environments.
  4. Test #004: Fluffy Social Behavior
Fluffies were housed together to observe group dynamics. While generally peaceful, conflicts arose when multiple females attempted to care for the same foals, leading to occasional aggressive behavior.
  5. Test #005: Fluffy Intelligence and Problem Solving
Fluffies were presented with simple puzzles, but they demonstrated no real problem-solving ability. They required human guidance to accomplish any task beyond basic needs.
  6. Test #006: Fluffy Reproduction
Female Fluffies were monitored during pregnancy and childbirth. Their reproductive cycles were found to be consistent with terrestrial mammals, with foals being born after a gestation period of approximately 4–5 weeks.
  7. Test #007: Fluffy Sensory Responses
Fluffies were subjected to sensory tests (bright lights, loud noises). They exhibited heightened sensitivity to both, often becoming distressed or agitated by loud sounds or intense light exposure.
  8. Test #008: Fluffy Diet and Digestion
Fluffies were fed various herbivorous diets, including hay, vegetables, and fruit. They demonstrated a preference for leafy greens and fruit, consuming food in small, frequent amounts throughout the day.
  9. Test #009: Fluffy Tear Production
Fluffies were observed shedding tears in response to emotional stimuli. Analysis revealed that their tears contained a unique compound, but no harmful effects were noted.
  10. Test #010: Fluffy Interaction with Humans
Fluffies responded positively to human interaction, especially when treated with affection. They seemed to form strong emotional attachments to human caretakers, though their attachment issues sometimes led to distress if separation occurred.

Incidents:

  1. Incident #001: During a routine feeding session, a Fluffy was startled by a loud noise and attempted to escape. The creature was quickly recaptured without harm.
  2. Incident #002: Fluffies exposed to low temperatures showed signs of distress, shedding excessive amounts of tears and becoming lethargic. The situation was rectified by moving the Fluffies to a warmer environment.
  3. Incident #003: An accidental breach in containment resulted from a Fluffy’s attempts to reunite with its foals. Minor property damage occurred but no personnel were injured.
  4. Incident #004: A Fluffy exposed to aggressive behavior from a human handler exhibited unusual crying patterns, which required immediate intervention to prevent further emotional distress.

What Dr. Jack Bright is Not Allowed to Do:

  1. **No attempting to breed Fluffies

Pretty good writing! It’s pretty loyal to the real SCP articles, and I can picture the foundation containing fluffies the first time they learn of their existence (assuming they don’t know where they came from). However, given the lack of anomalous properties, I’m pretty sure they would become an “Explained” SCP, which would cause them to be removed from the SCP list (and lose their numeration, “6621”).

I couldn’t imagine being a fluffy trying to find her babies and cause minor property damage and a containment breach.
