I think she does want them but has postpartum depression or something which is why she’s crying and her sister says ‘when you’re ready’ or at least thats the impression I got

She was somewhat neutral to Choco at first, treating her as a fellow herd member rather than a “Poopie”, even sneaking her extra nummies to help the other mare during her pregnancy. Friendly, but not friends.
After being adopted and separated from the negative influence of the smarty, Strawberry finally began to open up with her fellow “mummah”. She was always a good girl at heart, and now that she’s away from the bad crowd she can be the best fluffy she can be

Well, at least some of them were brutally killed. What a good dog. The guts being forced out the mouth of the foal as it’s trampled by its own parent (one of my favourite fluffy themes) is a nice touch.
