Smokey's Adventure - Chapter 5 - By BloodyBoots

Chapter 5

The bushes proved…prickely.

Smokey grumbled as he pulled thorns out of his butt.

Onion was more concerned with what they were stepping on, doing his best to avoid sharp things.

Soon they saw lights ahead, and strange whooshing noises. These were cars, something they had never witness out on the road before. They were fast, bright, and terrifying. The two fluffies stay in the bushes for a while, wondering which way to go.

“Where is sissy?” Onion asked.

“Owd wady and witte giw take Wosie away.” Smokey explained. “Dey get in car munstah and dribe away.”

“Oh nu!” Onion cried. “Owd wady house?”

Smokey nodded.

“Onion knu hew! She adopt othew fwuffies too!” Onion shared. “She adopt a wot…”

“Hmm.” Smokey’s little brain started to turn finally. “Ou know where owd wady wib?”

“She aways say ‘jus down da woad’ “ Onion continued. “Not suw which way doh.”

Smokey decided to circle the adoption building and use it as a base to stay close to while exploring outward. He needed to find out how many choices in direction he had. Turns out it was three; each of them were roads that went in different directions from the adoption center.
They both soon grew tired. They managed to find shelter under an old stack of pallets beside a back alley dumpster. They huddled together for warmth, making a perfect ying-yang of black and light green. They heard scary sounds, saw flashing lights from the roads. It was not nearly as nice as back home.

“Hope we find sissy soon.” Said Smokey, eating some of the nummies he brought in his little pack. He shared with Onion, who was trying very hard to be brave and stick around.

That was when they heard a noise coming from the bushes nearby.

Smokey and Onion braced for something terrifying, only to realize that it was Rosie!

They all scared the hell out of each other for a moment before realizing who they all were.

Smokey’s heart raced as he tried to calm down. He didn’t think that he would find his sister so fast! But here she was right in front of him in only one night!

Sometimes fluffies can be pretty lucky creatures.

“What happen?” Smokey asked Rosie, still catching his breath.

“Witte giw huwt Wosie.” Rosie explained sadly. “Gib wostest huwties because she only wittwe giw and nu knu bettew.”

Smokey shook his head. He disliked children enough already after getting his tail pulled on more than one occasion. Onion, however, loved kids, tail pulls and all. He was still sad his friend was upset, however.

“Can we gu homsies now?” Onion whined. He missed the fluff pile and his food dish.

“Nuu!” Rosie cried. “We hab tu gu sabe Daisy! She dew too!”

Smokey sighed and shook his head. He didn’t like the idea of leaving daisy with a heavy-handed child. Kids never kept toys for long, and they quickly get forgotten or discarded.

“Otay, Smokey hewp.” He agreed with a gulp. He was still a bit scared.

Onion tried not to cry and agreed to go as well. He was also friends with Daisy and didn’t want her getting hurt. He bit his lip and gave the toughest look he could muster, looking more like a stroke victim, but the effort was noted by his friends who couldn’t help but smile.

“Fowow me.” Rosie whispered as she started to lead the way. “Wosie wemember da way back.”

The trio crept along the side of the road, hiding further in when cars came by. The big metal monsters were still terrifying.

Onion almost didn’t make it in time for one of them and couldn’t help but make scardy peepees. The other fluffies tried not to laugh at his misfortune, but they couldn’t help it. Onion made it even funnier by being the first one off the road from then on out, terrified of the cars more than ever.

“Amos dewe.” Rosie said as they neared a white house with black shutters. “We can sneakies in da back of da housie.”

They made their way around back and came to the pet door. It was made for a large dog, so there was plenty of room to walk through. They came into a kitchen where a small fluffy bed lay in the corner. Inside was Daisy, shivering in a ball after a long day of rough playing with Angie, the little girl with dragon claws.

“Daisy!” Rosie hissed. “Fowwow us! We find way out!”

Daisy didn’t hesitate to come running to her friends. She cried tears of joy as she approached Rosie, limping a bit from an injured leg.

“Danku for comin’ back.” Daisy sobbed. “Daisy nu wike it hewe!”

“Huwwy, wets gu!” Smokey pleaded. “Out da doggy doow!”

The four fluffies scurried out the door and back outside of the big white house. They now had to look forward to walking the whole way back down the road from whence they just came.

“Onion su tiwed.” The chubby little green fluffy whimpered as his sore little hooves trudged down the road. “Wan gu sweepies in fwuffpiwe.”

“Amos dewe, fwiend.” Smokey said encouragingly, trying to stay as brave as he could.

That was when one of the cars slowed down. Normally they just drove by without a care, but this one saw the fluffies and deliberately stopped. Smokey got a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach as a fat man rolled out of the car and quickly made his way towards the group.

Smokey watched in horror as the man scooped up Daisy and tossed her into his backseat, ignoring her cries. The other three fluffies ran up to the man, biting his ankles as hard as they could trying to stop him. He responded by picking them up one by one and tossing them into the backseat along with daisy. He slammed the door shut and got back in the driver’s seat. Soon he was back on the road, driving to only God knows where.

The gang… had been kidnapped!
