Sorry if I sound like a fanboy, but what exactly compelled (in your mind) Star to confront that fluffy? Was it simply because that yellow fluffy did not belong to his herd?

all part of his plan to ingratiate himself to the foal. After all you never actually see him fight the other stallion. All the talk of “a big meanie fluffy in bushies” and “PROTEC BABBEH!” seem very planned. For all we know that yellow fluffy is part of a bigger herd we never see.
