The Atlas case files part 1 by (that1hugboxer)

Disclaimer: ( .Obviously this is science fiction. The brain of any animal doesn’t work even remotely close to what I presented.)

To put it simply The methods used to train Atlas were time consuming and strenuous not only on you but on Atlas himself. Still you question whether the results had any correlation to the methods in question. By and large most people whether they be simple fluffy enthusiasts or dedicated scientists the consensus is nearly unanimous. A smarty cannot change and those that do change are met with skepticism to them having been smarties in the first place. Humanity looked at the stars and for countless generations clinged to the hope that one day either them or their descendants would walk among the heavenly bodies, and yet the simple idea of a smarty holding within them the capacity for attitude improvement , is met with accusations of delusion as if some fundamental law of the universe renders it a sisyphean task. Every inquiry into the cause of smarty syndrome is met with accusation of conspiratorial thinking or vague answers that it magically happens when a mother deems a foal their “bestist babbie”. With the advent of the fluffy sanctuary you now had the means to study a wide variety of fluffies . And what you discovered was very interesting . The brain of a smarty and the brain of a “poopie” were vastly different. (It should be noted that a fluffies brain smarty or otherwise is remarkably similar to the brain of a human toddler.) A smarty’s brain tended to have an extremely over developed hypothalamus and a comparatively undeveloped amygdala. This however was not the most interesting discovery. Scanning the brain of a fluffy with no history of smarty behavior while a recording played claiming them to be “bestist babbie” caused a shift in blood flow from the amygdala to the hypothalamus causing gradual shrinkage of the amygdala leaving only the fight or fight function intact, resulting in Heightened aggression. This actually makes sense from a survival standpoint. The meanest gets more milk by bullying their siblings. More milk results in greater growth during developmental stages of life. larger , stronger males tend be more successful at securing special friends by driving away weaker males. More special friends means that their offspring is more likely to survive. If we were talking about mammals as a whole then there would be an obvious discrepancy in this depending on the species observed. However fluffies tend to be a male dominant species and this is probably by design . You see smaries far more often in feral and stray packs. Regardless of how comparably weak they are to humans and other predators, smarties have an undeniably higher chance of survival in a pack setting, however negligible it may be in the grand scheme of things. The question still remains. How was Atlas able to change and not relapse?

When scanning Atlas’s brain it was discovered that his amygdala showed signs of previous shrinkage but had repaired itself when the hypothalamus shrunk back to a normal size. The only thing you used to train Atlas outside of the standard recommended methods was the Conscience collar , a specialized collar programmed to respond to undesirable phrases often used by fluffies. Referring himself as a smarty would trigger one of the preprogrammed recordings to play, this specific instance triggered “u can be good fwuffy ow bad smawty”
Most other phrases triggered the other voice line “u am bad fwuffy”. The collar even had a remote that could trigger either response with the push of a button. Eventually Atlas asked about the voice and you simply stated that it was his own Conscience telling him not to do bad things. Eventually this had an effect where atlas would stop himself mid word because of the association between it and the recording. The same association developed with certain actions until eventually he stopped using those phrases and doing those actions all together. The same conditions were recreated with both feral and domestic smarties ranging from foal to adult ages. The results showed that smarty foals were more susceptible to the collar treatment over a shorter period of time while also having a higher risk of behavioral relapse after initial treatment . Requiring an overall increase in the number of treatments to prevent relapse entirely. The older the smarty was ,the initial treatment period required for results increased, but the number of treatments required to eliminate relapse decreased significantly.smarties who suffered past physical trauma showed signs of rapid hypothalamus expansion . In layman’s terms Hasbio programmed all fluffies with a biological smarty switch triggered the mother dubbing them the “bestist babbie” the recommended methods of punishment prescribed by Hasbio are actually designed to make the problem worse . Forcing you to buy a new fluffy. A smarty foal requires significantly more effort to cure compared to an adult smarty. Seeing as smarty foals have a significantly higher mortality rate at the hands of their owners compared to those found in the wild. It’s abundantly clear what Hasbio is playing at.
