The Denial of the Brown Foal by Doc

The cave was quite dark, massive with a ceiling that reached so high that it became a pitch black sky. The opening of the cave being moderately short, too short that only a toddler, at max, could fit. Despite the plenty of room, no animal or man resided there. That was except for a huge nest that rested in at the very end of the cave. The nest at first glance appears to be empty. That is until closer inspection, a little brown foal covered in a big pile of leaves sleeping peacefully all snug. He was making little giggles and chirps. “He…heheh chirp…chirp! Wub mummah….” The little stubby legs held out like a hug, unintentionally knocking off the makeshift blanket. Poor things closed eyes squinted, making anxious chirps as a cold gust of wind blew from the front. The nest wasn’t enough to protect the poor thing. He chirped and cried out as he felt his little body go ice cold. The twisted pain forced him awake with cries of agony. “CHIRRRP! HUUUU MAMMAH, COWS BABBEH COWD! BABBE-.” The agonizing cold seemingly faded when the wind stopped, yet he is more focused on the area around him. “W…Whewe…mummah? Hewd?! Bwuddas!?” The little foal climbed out of the nest, unintentionally making the edge snap, causing him to fall and land on his tummy. “EEEE-PEEP! Owies!” His eyes teared up, his little legs shaking, barely able to stand up. “M-mummah?!..p-peep! Mummmaaah!?” The calls for its mother were in vain, the foal too naive to realize. It raised its voice to yell as loud as it could.

“MMMMUUUUUMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-ah!” There was a deep rumble, tiny pieces of gravel came down, clacking onto the floor. “Eep! Mm…huuu?” The foal’s head gently looked up to the dark ceiling. More gravel continued to fall, the little foal shivering, uncertain if it was caused by fear or by the cold. The rumbling grew worse, almost vibrating the floor beneath his little hooves. “E-EEP CHIRP! MUNSTAAAAAH!” Without thinking, the bawling foal attempted to run back to the nest. A loud crack as a giant slab of rock crashed into the nest. The resulting collision destroying the nest as rock expldoed everywhere. The foal screeched as it feel back on its butt. More rocks started to fall as beams of bright light and cold wind blew into the crumbling cave. The wind being enough to force the foal onto his feet by virtue of instinct. “MUNSTAAAAAAHS! MAMMA HEEEEEWP!” Without thinking, the brown foal started running. His four little legs galloping as hard as they could. All that could come out were chirps, whimpered yelps as the cave continued to collapse. Each rock that fell slammed closer and closer to him, each one making him chirp louder and louder the closer they slammed behind him. All it did was make him gallop faster, the foal’s little heart racing, beating like crazy as it screamed. “BABBEH NU WANNDIE BABBEH NU WAN DIE! BAAABEEEH NU WAAAN DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-!” It held this word, continuing to scream. His eyes bloodshot from the constant stream of tears. Despite his insane efforts to survive, his luck was running out. One giant slabbed that casted a shadow over him as he looked up was about to fall upon him. He had no time to catch his breath, his life flashing before his eyes.

BABBEH EF YU NU WAN DIE! JUUUUUUUUUUMP!

“IIIII- EEP! M-MUMMAH?! HUUUUUUUUUUU!” The foal without thinking, jumped with all its might, crying out. The stress was too much, the shock knocking him out as he flew through the opening of the cave. The wreckage fully collapsing and caving in behind him as he fell into the snow. Sadly, for him, there was no mummah only the cold snow that broke his fall. Yet, he made it. The collapse of the cave was his fault, yet he made it out alive. Poor thing was out cold in the soft snow. The snow that blanketed out for miles. In his sleep, a little memory did flash before him, a little dream of better times.

“HUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!” Like before without thinking, he jumped across, landing in his mother’s tummy. The foal remembered her very dark pale blue coat. “Ooof! Heheh see babbeh? Wus dat su hawd?” The foal opened its eyes, tightly held shut as it woke up on his mother. “B-babbeh awive!” The foal stands up on his mother’s tummy. He chirped suddenly with glee. “YEE CHIRP CHIRP! BABBEH DED IIIIIIIIIIT!”

The mother giggled and gently eased him off her tummy. “Yu did it babbeh! Mummah pwoud uf chu!” The foal is rewarded with kisses. They tickled as he giggled, “Ehehhe mummaaaah dat tickwes!” She giggled back, “Eheheh yu gig tickwies cus mummah wub bwave babbeh dat much!” His little brown cheeks flushed, making him hide his face. She smiled at his adorable embarrassment. “Okies babbeh. Time fur sweepies.”

She picked him up gently by the back of his neck, carefully carrying him to the nest. The foal responded with a pretty sad, “AAAAAAAAWWAA! Mur tim, pwease mummmaaah?” She gently shook her head as she lay hims in the nest on his own, lightly tucking him in with leaves. “Mmm nu babbeh. Et wate….aldough. Mummah tinkin.” The foal looked up with adorable big eyes of wonder. “B-babbeh wistening!” The mother smiled as she finished tucking him in. “Huw do de namsies…Bwian sownd?”

Brian’s eyes light up,”YEEE! BABBEH WUB NUW NAMSIES!” Despite his excitement, the fatigue got to him. His eyes slowly closing, as his mother kissed his little forehead. Although…Brain could swear, the look on momma’s face wasn’t…happy? Momma was…sad?

The dream ending only forced Brian awake to breath in hard, shivering as the snow was now coming down hard. He shivered looking out. “Huuu…chirp! Chirp! MUMMAH? Chirp! Why mummah an’ hewd weav’ nestie without babbeh?” Brain could only walk forward, his hooves leaving little round foot prints in the snow. “HEEWWWOOOO?” Not a single answer would come. Who could hear Brian out in the storm? “Ba…babbeh cowd. Nu wike white sky wawa…nee…nee’ find mummah for huggies…a-an’ miwkies.” He looked up at the sky, getting a little teary eyed. “B…bwian wub mummah…mummah wub bwian…”

Nice start, man…the cave collapse due to vibration? Or heavy snow?

And why brian was all alone? What happen to his family? And he sees his mom in dream

Hmm…Yes as for the other questions, the herd did leave without him. As for why. I nu snitch. Also yeah he saw his mom in a dream that technically an old memory where his mom was teaching him how to jump. As jumping is a vital tool to survival….probably should explain. This is the same world as Farmer Foals. And in canon depending on the region. Feral fluffies are much stronger. They are still technically fragile fat little ponies. But, they do have the capacity to fight back against predators. Not on their own usually no. So Ferals always are in herds. Its a slow process of figuring my fluffy canon out.

Well if you saw the first comment the story is based off the art. Also he’s described as brown once. As to whether he was left behind because of that. I no snitch on either :3.
