What mighta made me realize it (aside from the color change), was a shared trait of a character who my lazy procrastination-ass self has yet to make a proper reference for and post. OC is both sensitive about his appearance and doesn’t like bright light, so high-tech suit including glasses helps with that.
(My apologies for the length of this comment) Also, on that note, I’ve got something that I feel like I’ve gotta bring up. Maybe I’ll continue to be such a snail that I won’t make a story and this’ll be irrelevant, but I have a character who I swear by sheer coincidence has similarities to Samuel, though only on a surface level/visually. I was conceptualizing him since before I saw Samuel, because I like dudes in fullbody outfits I guess, but nonetheless, I’ve come from a couple communities where I’ve seen individuals brutally ganged up on for having a character that looks similar to a more popular artist’s. I’ve been lucky enough to never have been the focus of such things, but I still don’t consider people disliking me under similar circumstances to be out of the question. I’ve yet to see any real OC-based creator-bashing on this site, but since this is a small community, I don’t think I’d be able to avoid comparisons either.
I’d like to at least say that I can guarantee that I’m not trying to copy anything. Thankfully, aside from Samuel and Hugh (name of my OC in question) having the shared trait of fullbody suits, they themselves are quite different characters. I mean… I’m hoping that with the differences in art styles, accessories, character motives, and the efforts I wanna give in trying to make my characters distinct, is gonna compensate enough to avoid any shit between me and anyone else, but I’m someone who pretty much worries about everything, so… [anxiety noises]

Oh no Samuel doesn’t have a body suit , he just have that hightech goggle the rest is just reg grayish turtleneck and coat his “bag of tricks” are just anti fluffy or pro fluffy depends on the situation.
He wore the mask as fluffies scared of scary mask.
He is a bit of a mystery and eccentric. Thats bout it.

Yeah, I know, Samuel’s face is concealed by the shadow via the hood. I’m just sayin’ because both characters have concealed faces and round lenses when suited up that that’s where physical similarities might come from. That, and the greys. Hugh tends to only dress in blacks and greys, because he’s entirely colorblind, so he might as well.
…but I shouldn’t ramble about my characters on other people’s stuff, and since you don’t seem to be worried, I guess I shouldn’t either, so… I’ll wander off now.

I planned to have an actual flash bang in his coat and just throwed at him but it takes a bit for it to exploded and the smarty would have hide.
