At least the licensed therapy studs, anyway. There are a lot of fluffies at Sunshine Feels. In order of appearance:
Arrokoth:
Former toughie of a feral herd, Arrokoth was brought in by a humane trapping and rehabilitation effort for ferals. Already affiliated with Sunshine Feels and very impressed at how calm and brave he was about the whole thing, the organization recommended him to Sunshine Feels as a working pony. He’s the proverbial big teddy bear of a guy.
Crystal:
Born to a pedigree mare in the lap of luxury, Crystal was sold to someone who abused him. He escaped the house, and after looking for and finding some help, ended up at Sunshine Feels. Once there, how even-tempered and gentle he was made him a good candidate for a therapy stallion. He is often mistaken for a mare, but very secure in his masculinity.
Phaeton:
Part of a mass escape from a fluffy mill, like Arrokoth, he was impressively chill upon capture, and recommended to Sunshine Feels. About as sensitive and poetic as a fluffy gets.
Sunkist:
Empty head, no thoughts, only wub. He was supposed to be a breeding stallion at a big, terrible, industrial-abuse kind of fluffy mill, but he’s far, far too sweet-natured to force himself on reluctant mares, and more importantly from the mill’s perspective, he’s allergic to all the ‘enf’ drugs. He was still worth money, so they sold him, and through a process like Candyfloss’s, he ended up where he is today.
Marron:
A breeder surrender due to his ‘bad colors’, many fluffy breeders would consider this an incredibly stupid move, since he’s a gentle, quiet, intelligent little unicorn with good physical conformation, and his ears are even technically designer, but here we are.
Cobalt:
Like Sunkist, Cobalt was supposed to be a breeder, but in a smaller, more backyard situation. He has similar moral standards, but the behavior that got noticed first was aggression to other stallions. Since no one was actually listening, they assumed he just hated other males and dumped him in an alleyway, when it all really righteous wrath for abusive behavior to the mares. He was picked up in a manner similar to Spike, from a feeding station.
Oak:
Has a backstory very similar to Arrokoth’s, but his family was on its own, so he has more scars and scarier war stories. Eventually, it was just him, his sister Stone from the same litter, and a few surviving younger siblings. They were taken in the same kind of humane trapping situation, and while the younger ones have been adopted out, Oak and Stone remain at Sunshine Feels.
Easter:
Escaped from an abusive owner, looking for good humans in the stubborn belief that there must be some, somewhere. Eventually showed up at Sunshine Feels with a few orphaned foals and a polite request for at least temporary food and shelter for the babies, and the promise of everyone being good. Naturally, this put him on the program’s radar.
Marinus:
Born and raised here, Marinus, like Sunrise, is basically a legacy. Like her, it was noticed early in life that he might make a very good therapy fluffy. It was also noticed that he is gay as hell, something his special friend Red Cloud was delighted to discover when he arrived.
Red Cloud:
Grew up in affluence as a pampered pet, and was misdiagnosed (as far as it is any kind of diagnosis) with Smarty Syndrome when they tried to breed him and he Would Not. While he can be a little bratty sometimes, his real problem was just that he’s gay, something figured out only after he was surrended to Sunshine Feels. (They’re affliated with a lot of shelters, and also run their own.)
