so from what i have seen the general view seems to be that Sensitive babies are often the favorite and or treated the best. On the other side fluffies born with “bad colors” are often abandoned or disliked by the mothers for being a “poopeh babbeh”.
so the question is what would happen if a mare had a brown baby that had SBS.
do you guys think it would
A) be neglected due to its color
B)treated normally because while still a bad color it does have SBS winning it some sympathy from its mother
C) be treated as the favorite with the SBS cancelling out the bad color in the mothers mind
D) something else entierly?
My headcanon is being shit color equals death when they have bad parents.
SBS foals are usually being treated as best baby, because they stay a baby forever, never leave their mother and they ask and give affection to their mother more than other normal foals.
But it doesn’t matter if they are shit color.
Because when a normal shit color foal is born, they look exactly like a SBS would look like forever, but they would get abused or neglect as soon as their parents see their color.
In My headcanon sbs are treated 50/50.
Meres are either suicidally in love with em or find em annoying and just leave em to die.
While for good daddes would mercy kill em to not let em suffer a painful growth, and bad daddes would eat em bc dumb=useless=food source.
While bad color fluffies are generally treated like other fluffies.
Hate for them comes from inflicted traumas, teach to hate or behavior glitch (like bms or smarties which are incredibly racist bc yes).
So a potential bad color sbs treatment depends on the story i want to tell
A brown SBS is literally a sentient turd, and would be elevated to messiah status by a secret sect of hugboxers known as the “Brownie Non-Fuckers” club… a group despised by all other hugboxers despite the fact that the BNF club absolutely does not fuck turd fluffies.
Well for SBS to be noticed, the baby has to survive past chirpy-hood, so … good chance the mare will never even realize, or (if the foal lives that long) will attribute the developmental issues to it just being too bad a baby to learn.
“Oh the dummy poopie stupid bitch babbeh hasn’t learned to talk yet? He’s sooo stupid this is why he’s a poopie, all my other good babbehs know how to talk” - mare, probably
Then it’s up to you if she decides “these little bastards are exhausting, I miss having babbehs that will only chirp and not talk back” and slowly glances over to the chirping in the poop pile.
Man I read the title and thought you were talking about wanting a SBS in general. Like who the hell would willingly want and raise a fluffy that’s even more intellectual disabled than normal? For me it wouldn’t matter what color the little fucker was, I would hate it with all my heart.
As for your actual question, in my head SBS born in the wild have a 85/15 chance of being abandoned by their mother due to being a resource leech & increasing their chances of being found by predators. In domestic setting it jump to about 50/50, but that’s mostly come from owner kinda forcing the mare to take care of the SBS instead of killing them once it’s known.
