Chicken Enrichment By [ WhenTheMoonHitsYourEye ]

Feral herd tried to dig under the fence to get at the fruit trees and berry bushes
Human said “I Think The Fuck Not”
Took the foals that the mares brought with them and hung them on some wire for their chickens to enjoy.

Enrichment is important for your animals.

Those foals have absolutely no chance. Knowing chickens, they’re probably gonna get beat against the ground and then swallowed whole or torn into pieces

Lol yeah, there was a 4th foal that was quickly obliterated. If you zoom in on the 4th hook you can see a small amount of it’s (reddish orange) skin/coat left behind.
Most of the flock is off swarming that foal.

The food chase is always one of my favorite parts of feeding chickens. They’re like little raptors when they get ahold of a small animal

Yeah, i remember the chickens i had growing tearong apart snakes and small rodents on a couple occasions. And a dead stray dog that one time.

My family has chickens and whenever one of our hens gets something good she grabs it and then run away with a horde of other chickens chasing after trying to take it from her. Those foals are going to get ripped apart and it’s going to be glorious.

I was just talking about fluffys being terrified of Chickens a little bit ago. NOW THEY HAVE A REASON! Also this give me an Idea!

I love chickens. They’re cute little dinosaurs, who like to cuddle (if handled for it). Their garbage disposal nature makes them perfect around foals!

Fun for the whole coop.

Imagine being a creature so pathetic that even chickens are higher up than you.

I was honestly surprised that there was a tag specifically for chickens.

Chickens readily maim other creatures. Including other chickens. They are above a lot of things.

They really are, i wish the chickens my family had were handled enough to be okay with being held. We did have a turkey that was okay being pet(she was too big for our laps though)

OMG. LAP TURKEY. I NEED! :sparkling_heart:

I’m used to 100lb lap dogs. A turkey is nothing.

chickens will eat some weird ass things. I saw one drink motor oil and then go back for more

The discomfort was because of her claws/feet. Otherwise she was a delight.

I can see that. From the ankle down, turkeys are basically birds of prey. Your girl sounds like she was a wonderful bird. :sparkling_heart:
