Fluffy love - Park (swiftbitches)

First part here!

“You’re going to love the park.” Matthew cheerfully spoke to the fluffy cradled in his arms. Azul’s heart was racing with excitement. He never got to go outside much, sure he got to go on walks occasionally but he never got to meet other fluffies. The last fluffies Azul gotten to play with were his siblings right before he was adopted, he missed them sometimes.

Azul could just barely peek over the brick wall and into the park from his daddy’s arms. He could see so fluffies galloping around he couldn’t even begin to count. They ducked in and out of little plastic tubes and houses, slid down brightly colored slides and scaled small padded structures so they could tell crown themselves ruler of the playground only to be dethroned almost immediately.

The short wooden gate that led into the park drew nearer and nearer and Azul felt he was going to explode with excitement. He was so excited to feel the soft grass under his hooves and climb the small towers with new friends. While Azul loved his daddy so much, he always felt slightly lonely with no other fluffy friends. He couldn’t stop himself from wiggling around in excitement and had to stop himself from just jumping out of Daddy’s arms as the gate creaked open and Matthew stepped onto the gravel pathway that branched out into the park.

“Wan down, wan down!” Azul squealed excitedly, his hooves flailing and he almost sent himself face first into the gravel path.

“Oh! Don’t do that, you’ll hurt yourself and then I’ll have to get a new fluffy.” Matthew laughed as he knelt down to set the fluffy free, giving Azul a quick head scratch as he buzzed with excitement. Before his Daddy’s hand had even left his mane, the stallion had taken off sprinting into the park.

Azul bolted through the park, his little mind too overwhelmed by the dizzying whirl of colors and wide, open space that surrounded him to choose one fluffy and attempt to befriend them. They all looked so friendly and happy, there were too many to choose!

He spotted a group of fluffies gathered around another wearing a princess crown and pretending to be guards, chest and cheeks puffed out to make them look intimidating. The one in to middle was commanding them on where to go and what to do.

The next fluffies to catch his eye was a family snuggled together next to a bench. A bright, snow white mare nuzzling into a blue stallion with three tails, how did a fluffy even get that many tails? Their foals played around them, climbing over their parents and hiding behind them in an exhilarating game of tag.

To his left he saw a massive brown…mare? She was covered with scars seemed to be bouncing around with a trio of foals, all trying to pin her down, as an equally massive maroon stallion watched over them, a yellow stallion with brown front legs leaning against his side. Could they special friends?

“Hewwow! Yu am new fwiend?” Azul was jerked from his thoughts as a lemon yellow fluffy with a bouncy, blonde mane jumped into view, an excited grin on his face.

“Eep!” Azul squeaked, jumping in surprise and looking at the new fluffy with wide eyes, “Oh, yeh. Azuw neba been to a park befowe!” He giggled, no longer surprised by the stranger’s sudden greeting.

“Azuw? Dat am pwetty name. Fwuffy am Sunny, am pawk gweetew!” The stallion smiled and poked a hoof at his green harness, bright white lettering and logo of a tree under an arch printed onto the fabric.

“Sunny hab a job!?” Azul’s jaw dropped and he stared at the stallion in shock. He had never heard of a fluffy having a job before.

“Yus!” Sunny grinned, his chest puffing with pride as he turned to give Azul a good look at his vest, “Dah mistah dat own dah pawk wet Sunny wib hewe if Sunny make suwe aww fluffies fowwow dah wuwes.”

“Wow…” Azul whispered, his voice filled with wonder, “Azuw wan wib at dah pawk too.” He imagined running and playing in the park all day everyday before glancing back to where Matthew had settled onto a bench and was staring at his phone.

“It am fun wibing in pawk bu’ yu Daddeh ow Mummah wouwd mish yu suuuuu much.” Sunny said, patting the new stallion on the back. Azul could detect a faint sadness in Sunny’s voice but didn’t understand why.

“Yeh, wouwd miss Daddeh too if wibed at pawk aww dah time.” Azul sighed, a soft pout forming on his lips.

“Weww, wan Sunny to show yu wound dah pawk?” Sunny asked excitedly, hoping to distract Azul from his little bout of homesickness.

“Suwe!” Azul nodded excitedly, casting one more glance at his daddy before following the bright yellow stallion away.

Azul was in awe at the amount of play equipment in the park, there was even a little maze tucked farther in. Sunny led him through it like he knew every turn and dead end, like he’d walked it a million times before. When Azul voiced his worries about getting lost in the maze Sunny giggled and stood on his hind legs, resting his hooves on top of the short foam walls, “Azuw just hab to wook obew dah wawws if get wost!” He said, a bright smile on his face.

Next, they explored huge plastic tube buried in the ground with only the entrance and exit exposed and inside lit up with tiny lights embedded in the roof. The two chased each other in and out of the tube, giggling and squealing with excitement.

After that, Sunny took him to the tallest slide on the playground. Azul stood staring out at the playground, feeling like he was so high he might touch the clouds. In reality it was only about three feet high but it still felt amazing.

The slide was even better than the view. The second Azul stepped onto the slide, hooves slipping as he tried to scramble for purchase on the slick plastic, Azul thought he was done for. He screamed in terror but was quickly cut off as he smacked face first into the soft foam at the bottom of the slide. Sunny gasped and sprinted down the steps in a panic, worrying he’d just gotten his new friend hurt when Azul jumped to his hooves laughing and hopping in an excited circle.

“Dat waz so cewl!!” Azul cheered, “Wan do dat again!” He yelled, charging back up the stairs and throwing himself down the slide. Sunny let out a relieved laugh and dropped onto his haunches as he watched Azul tumble across the foam padding, giggling and whooping.

The day raced by as the two played, not noticing the sun starting to dip lower and lower in the sky and the clear, bright daylight starting to take on a golden shine. Azul collapsed against the large plastic rock the two had been launching themselves off, jaws parting in a huge yawn. Sunny let out a large yawn himself and plopped next to his friend. He was only just noticing how empty the park had become. The only other fluffies were a pair giggling as they bopped up and down on the seesaw.

“It am weawwy wate.” Sunny whispered, his eyes widening as he glanced around for Azul’s Daddy. It was a lot later than most owners let their fluffies stay and anxiety welled in his chest. People would sometimes abandon their fluffies at the park and then just walk away, leaving the fluffy devastated and rejected. Though, maybe that wouldn’t be so bad. Sunny had so much fun playing with Azul, it would be so great if he could live in the park with Sunny.

Sunny was both elated and saddened when he spotted a man, head leaned back as though he’d fallen asleep on the bench. He glanced back to Azul who was blinking sleepily and trying to keep his head up. The heavy weight of a long day playing was starting to creep into Sunny’s body as well.

“Wet’s go to yu Daddeh, don’ wan make him wowwied!” Sunny nudged Azul onto his hooves and guided the sleepy stallion to the bench. He grabbed the man’s pant leg with his teeth and yanked as hard as he could, startling the human awake.

Matthew shot up, grabbing the back of his neck and letting out a small groan of pain. His neck hurt like hell and his throat was painfully dry. He glanced around, shocked to find the sun setting, had he fallen asleep?

“Hewwow mistah!” Sunny greeted cheerily, “Am yu Azuw’s Daddeh? Azuw am bewy sweepy, nee’ go home.” Sunny looked down at Azul, his own eyes growing heavy as Azul laid his head across Sunny’s shoulders.

“Yeah I am. Guess I fell asleep.” Matthew laughed and pulled his phone out to check the time. 7:50, why hadn’t anyone in the park woken him up?

“I guess it’s time to get you home.” Matthew muttered, wrapping his hands around Azul’s waist and tucking the tired fluffy in his arms. Azul cooed and snuggled into his Daddy’s warm chest, starting to slowly drift off.

Azul barely registered the creak of the gate and Matthew’s quiet foot steps as they left, “You still owe me some loving.” Matthew whispered in his ear and Azul smiled at the sound of his Daddy’s low voice, slowly sinking into sleep as he thought about his new friend and how much fun they had that day.

Sunny watched the pair go, a cold sadness seeping into him as Azul’s owner leaned to place a tender kiss on the blue stallion’s nose. Yawning, he turned to the shed that housed him at night and crawled through the doggy door, the chip in his collar causing it click as the plastic flap unlocked. He settled into his bed and closed his eyes, Sunny wished he had a Daddy like that.
