I really love this @Chikahiro ! I appreicate that you expanded on the idea. I hope I get the chance to write about something like this

It seemed like a very good, very reasonable idea! If kept warm, fed, and safe? They’d probably make decent livestock. Especially since if the mares never worry about running out of milk? I think using it to make cheeses would be a good idea.

I also figure that the manure could be dried and stored: dung is not an uncommon fuel. Or composted. I’ve long wondered if you could use heat from composting to help during colder times of year. Some manures need to be composted before being used.

Shit Discs if made right could easily stack, store and sell for a good price depending on how much they weigh

My headcanon has fluffies like this, but they’re called Superfluffy Fluffies. They were engineered by tweaking the amount of alpaca DNA in the fluffy genome.

I’m surprised he’s not kicking up a fuss. Is he that used to shearing?

My Superfluffy Fluffies are also engineered to be less reluctant to parting with their fluff. They still don’t exactly enjoy it, but if you leave just enough, they won’t complain. The guy who engineered them took everything into account.

The fluff is used in a lot of Flufftopia products. And you won’t find any other parts of a fluffy’s body in their products. They’re a very hugbox-friendly chain. They sell their products for a loss, because they don’t think hugboxing should fuck people in the wallet, and the company that owns the Flufftopia chain also owns a cosmetics company, which more than makes up for the loss. They won’t bleed hugboxers dry, but they’ve got no problem with bleeding vain people dry, and the makeup is of excellent quality.

Yeah. Raised with it. Human earned their trust, they need it (gets hot and heavy).

I love fluffy shavings! Usually it’s done for the awkwardness and embarrassment of fluffies, but it’s great to see it handled the hugbox way as well.

This would of course fit right into my or any other fluffies-are-food-type timeline.

Yep. I think the main thing for me is it makes a lot of sense in general. A fluffy would be a lot less noisy than, say, chickens. Smell might be about the same if not litter trained.

I know there’s the whole “they’re only biotoys/soap” argument but treating them like animals (whether pet or livestock) makes more sense to me. Seeing them them treated more humanely versus pure industrial appeals to me (well, same with animals in general). Even if these fluffies ended up on the dinner plate, I think its better all around.

Fluffies treated better should produce better meat, be less likely to be sick, etc. Similar arguments to small-scale farms versus mass industrial ones. Adam Regusia would be proud, I think :stuck_out_tongue:

To note: I would recognize that the advantage of large-scale agriculture is efficiency and the prices we have in the store. Set costs get spread out across more product. And spending more than absolutely necessary is not an option for a lot of people. So while critical of that industry I do recognize it provides a tangible value and importance to many people.

Counterpoint: after a period of acute food scarcity, lots of people are going to keep their own livestock around. If fluffies are cheap and plentiful then they would certainly quality. They’re definitely more docile than most chickens.
