While this may seem cruel, but on a farm, cattle are raised to produce milk or meat. So, the fluffy was simply cattle, to be raised and then used for Christmas dinner. All the hugs, love and sketties made her meat tender.

I feel like this happens more then we think in setting
Pretty sure many food, specially canned would have to pass more controls to make sure it doesn’t have fluffy meat being sold as anything else.
