But fluffy meat becomes more tender and tasty when it suffered severe psychological and physical trauma before its death! That’s common knowledge!
one of my favorite abuse comics~ -chef’s kiss-
Headcanons differ, but at least we can all agree:
Fluffies am bestest holiday nummies!
Not when a good sweet potato pie exists
You’re not wrong that a good pie comes close.
And if you think sweet potato pie is good, try sweet potato pecan pie sometime!
Might be that I’m used to livestock, might be that I absolutely adore Christmas; but this comic always gives me warm fuzzies. Just a loving Grandma preparing Christmas dinner for her family, something that’s so often taken for granted.
Depends on headcanon as many thing, in mine at least fluffies are kind of syntetic, so when then die not much time passes when they turn rigid and their meat hard as plastic, kinda like trying to chew a plastic bucket, so they need to be killed right away and prepared, stress makes the meat harder on any organic creature, but in this case it injects the fluffy’s corpse with a little more “life” allowing long cooking processes without the meat turning hard.
Or at least that’s the “abuse logic” in my world. I should make a little comic about it one day xd
xD that does kinda make sense, thanks for the answer lol
The ultimate betrayal
Are fluffies red meat, dark meat, or white meat?
In my headcanon they’re red meat. Of course, everyone is different.
Horses are red meat. Though… I guess fluffies aren’t actually related to horses at all eh?
Red meat honestly makes sense.
The real question is are aquatic fluffies a different meat? Like are they white meat as with most fish? Or have they not made that leap?
Prefacing the below, again, with, this is strictly in my headcanon.
In my headcanon seafluffs are basically an aquatic adaptation of the fluffy. The meat tastes like slightly fishy red meat (because they eat lots of aquatic plants). Obviously they don’t drown easily and can in fact hold their breath for a long time, they can talk when surfaced, etc. Most places let you fish them without limit because they’re an invasive species.
I’m sure this works differently with fluffies, but IRL the more stressed/in pain an animal is, and the more it runs or struggles, the more lactic acid their body will produce, making their meat tough and bitter. If you want high quality meat, you raise them in as stress-free an environment as possible, and make their death quick, painless and something they don’t see coming so they’re relaxed and content to the very end.
The below is strictly my headcanon.
The unique artificial metabolism of the fluffy leaves some excess sugar in the muscle cells for a quick burst of energy. This leaves the meat slightly sweet after a humane slaughter, assuming that the fluffy is raised under ideal conditions, that is, in a low-stress, fun, loving environment.
Some fluffherders find that they prefer to flood the muscle with lactic acid in order to give the meat a savory flavor somewhat like sauerkraut. This is done by acutely stressing (read: torturing) the fluffy before slaughter, such as by skinning and gutting it alive or by killing its foals in front of it. Such torture is only done in the hours before the fluffy expires. Otherwise the meat would be inedibly sour.
Again, that’s strictly my headcanon. Everyone has their own.
Looks delicious! I applaud grandma on this Christmas meal. (Also, lovely art!)
Ah a Fellow Homecook! Although I prefer to keep the Fluffies Alive while cooking. The meat is Extra Tender due to the tears
how can these things survive
being boiled alive?
just the first minutes/seconds depending if they get ornot a heart attack
It also depends on the artist right?
