havenā€™t seen fox tails like that. are those close to something like this, but with a more visible border?

I think so. Kitsune means fox in Japanese and the idea of a fox with multiple tails is something Iā€™ve seen in Naruto. I donā€™t know Japanese mythology so I donā€™t know if thatā€™s a traditional bit of folklore or recent though.

Iirc they do like aburage or fried tofu. No idea why.

The tails remind me or orange peels, especially with the light chest/belly coat. xD

As usual, the Korean version is more metal

aaaayyy i did a nine tail type of kitsune

Yes.

I hath been summoned .

Kitsune is both a normal fox in Japanese but can also refer to the kitsune yokai.
A ninetailed mischievous fox spirit from Japanese folklore.
The tails denote their age and power level every 100 years they gain a tail,
a nine tailed kitsune is immensely powerful.

When people in the west talk about kitsunes they usually mean the yokai
Or anthro foxes whom have multiple tails but no actual supernatural abilities
and who are no doubt inspired by

In fluffy lore kitsune fluffies, the original Japanese ones were off course inspired by the yokai .
The UK derivatives ( ie mine ) are just fancy designer pet fluffies.

Iā€™m sick.
So if I donā€™t reply anytime soon thatā€™s why.
