I was in a deep state of meditation when someone entered my chamber speaking.
“My Queen I have returned from The Garden…”
Opening my eyes I see the commander I had assigned to take over The Garden infront of me, he had kneeled down and by the way he looked I already knew they failed to take The Garden. But feeling a little bored alongside a growing rage I ask the obvious.
“Status on The Garden, has the city been taken?”
The commander with a face of fear and flattening his ears. speaks while taking deep breaths.
“We were able to breach the outer wall and got to the inner wall, but reinforcements were able to sneak in and launch a counterattack. As we fought a Pegasus I think with a black and white coat found a horrible weakness…”
I speak now in a full rage!
“WHAT WEAKNESS, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!”
The commander is now trembling as he speaks.
“Fire you’re majesty, it was fire! Please you’re majesty I just need to find a fix for this weakness and some more troops and The Garden and Swab will be yours please!”
In a rage I speak to my bodyguards.
“GUARDS SHOW THIS FAILED DRONE WHAT HAPPENS TO THOSE WHO FAIL ME!”
Guards go in as they pick up the commander and begin to drag him out screaming, I speak to the guards.
“Also I don’t care where you get it but I order all Changeling soldiers to be given a shield we can’t let this flaw slow down now! DISMISSED!”
The guards nod as the drag the commander into the darkness and things become quiet once again. As I try to get back into a meditative state I fail as I just can’t stop thinking about this failure dammit! It has been over a month since this war started and we were just robbed of our greatest victory! And it didn’t help that there was also another problem, for every 1 Talon knight killed almost 10 changelings died just to do it! Meaning if things continued like this the hive could soon face a crisis on numbers NO! It can’t be, it’s my destiny to rule Chicago and nobody is going to take it from me! Curse The Garden, curse Swab and curse that black and white Pegasus that exploited our… Wait a minute black and white, that color pattern feels familiar.

The trip back to Swab was a lot more quiet than I had expected and once we got back we were given a hero’s welcome by the Talon knights who were in the city. Going inside Talon headquarters I greeted Gavin, Torres and Lance and Nuit processed to tell them that the city was safe and secure but when it got to discussing the changeling weakness Nuit looked at me and gave the signal that he wanted me to explain what happened so I did speaking.
“Duwin’ dah battwe at dah outah waww Souw was fightin’ an’ duwin’ that fite I saw my uncwe Mewwin about to be attacked, su in despewation fwuffy kicked piece of buwnin’ wood at dah changewings an’ stwange dis happened. Theiw entiwe body was enguwfed in fwames an’ awmost instantwy dey wewe mewting, Souw feews wike dis couwd be a gweat weapon to hewp us win dah waw.”
All three of them talked amongst themselves before they all stopped and Gavin spoke.
“This information you have given us will be invaluable so I thank you. Nuit you are to be assigned to scouting group b, while Soul and his family are to stay in Swab for now. And also as because of this information all puffies that were brought outside of Chicago may now return to their homes as I consider this place low risk.”
As we all begin heading down I overhear them speaking again and I’m able to hear some words coming from Torres.
"Send someone to go get the schematics. "
We were escorted to the same barracks we stayed in, and once we got there we put our things down and relaxed. As I sat by a window I thought to myself that getting out of this life of constant peril and danger, I felt like I wanted to tell somebody about it. So getting up I wandered over, Merlin and Jay were gone leaving shortly after we came in meanwhile Willy was already asleep so heading over I see Monica sitting and once she hears my footsteps she looks over at me speaking.
“Hewwo Souw nee’ something?”
I speak as I sit down next to her.
"Nu Souw just wanted to shawe somethin’ on my mind.
Monica now with a bit of concern on her face gets closer to me and speaks.
“What’s wwong sweetheawt?”
I speak.
“Monica fwoughout dis entiwe yeaw it has been awmost nonstop fightin’ an’ puttin’ ouw wibes at wisk. Dis wowk nao just makes me feew su empty inside an’ Souw feews wike one of these days ouw wuck am just goin’ to wun out. su I think aftah we wetuwn to <otow, dis am it nu mowe it’s time we aww get ‘way fwom aww dis biowence an’ just wibe as a famiwy. what do ‘ou think?
I couldn’t help but get teary eyed as I spoke and after a few seconds of silence from Monica she put her hoove on my chin witch eventually led to a hug and her speaking.
"Monica has been habin’ dah same thoughts as weww an ‘ou confiwmin’ dis makes me feew su happy! An’ once we get home, we’ww aww be one happy famiwy.”
We start to kiss as we lay down next to each other, getting closer and closer as we did
We spent the next few days in Swab just preparing and training but ultimately things were quiet, one thing interesting did happen though as the day after we got back the puffies that were evacuated started returning in large numbers and soon the entire city came back to life with everything returning to a semi normal. It was in the middle of the third day of being back when Talon knights had approached us saying we were needed. Following them we arrived at their headquarters and brought to it’s basement, in there I saw dozens upon dozens of shelves coining all sorts of records and information (It reminded me a lot of the library at the Compound) Continuing to follow them we got to a small room where we saw Torres and Gavin sitting down waiting for us, sitting they took out a map and Gavin started speaking.
“We have discovered the main entrance to the hive, Nuit and a scouting party had followed a small band of changelings leading to it’s location here.”
Gavin points to the western part of Chicago an area that wasn’t that far from where I fought SteedHeart those months ago. Torres speaks after we all look at the map for a few seconds.
“There’s also something else we’ve been meaning to show you, follow me.”
Following both Torres and Gavin we left the basement and exited the headquarters, walking for a few minutes we eventually got to a training area with around 2 dozens knights with one wearing something strange. It was a full suit of metal armor almost nowhere you could see any flesh and on their back was a large tank, Gavin speaks.
“Flame Knight I order you to give an demonstration!”
The “Flame Knight” (What?) goes to a large trunk and takes something out, it was some sort of long black tube and after picking it up the Flame Knight connects it to the tank, than after a few seconds they pulled the trigger and fire came out of the tube leaving us all in utter shock. Gavin speaks looking at the flames.
“To defeat this enemy, we have conquered fire!” Fin
