A random idea that had been in my head for a while. I wanted to go more in-depth with this story, but I decided to opt for a simpler write-up. This story is meant to be in the same canon as “Wan pway?” and “Tracking the history of fluffspeak”. I was also inspired by videos from both Vice and Business Insider, and this transcript can be imagined as being written in a manner similar to how such youtube videos would be presented.
Some notes:
(a) The Second Great Depression is one possible turn of events that could happen after “Wan Pway?”
(b) there were some themes related to the concept of ‘fluffies-as-food’, and the possible taboo nature of the subject, that I barely touched upon in this story. I might save it for another story, as there are many ways the concept could be explored
(c) In the canon of Wan Pway, fluffies are animals marketed as toys. One of the inspiration for this story was a statement made by @AIDS here, which had his foals be able to speak fluffspeak innately due to programming. In the world of wan pway, language is acquired by fluffy foals in the same way humans do as toddlers.
(d) The idea for porses came from a picture Kalooboo did of a fluffy pony interacting with a horse. For the sake of depiction, porses look similar to fluffies, but are NOT fluffies by virtue of their inability to learn a human language.
(e) The language deprivation experiments carried out by Hasbio were based on Harry Harlow’s controversial experiments done with monkeys, which shall not be linked here
