Munstah Madness Contest Announcement

It doesnt have to have evolved from fluffies, just act as a final challenge, like I said in the post

Thank you

Here is my submission. I was thinking of calling him the boongart or something like that. He has 9 eyes but they are too small to see anything, so he has evolved massive ears. They can hear just about anything, I figured this would be funny because fluffies never shut up. He has massive teeth that can bite through gators, so he could swallow a fluffy whole. He has a tail and claws. I don’t know what else to say about him. I did this in like 20 minutes so it might not be my best work

Is that good

I am scared

For everyone’s notice: if you decide to post your monster outside of this thread, and it does not involve any fluffies in it, the post should go into the #non-fluffy cottegory. If you cannot find the option to choose this cottegory, go into groups and join the corresponding group to unlock it

Nice but wouldn’t that just decimate the entire herd?

It is basically blind, so if the herd stays quiet they should be fine. If they author doesn’t want anyone to die they can learn about being quiet from him eating a loud bird or something

This monster lives in the swamp. It usually hides in the marsh, but sometimes wonders around on hind legs with no clear destination, almost like a zombie. It makes slow, long, high pitched agonizing sounds, like this (ieeeeeeEEEeee…) ((kinda like a Minecraft ghast, but longer sounds)) that can be heard from far away. It’s “bone” is exposed in its low left cheek. The “bone” glows dimly partially, and has weird lines in it. Even though there are no eyes or a jaw, it still sees (somehow) and can eat. This monster does NOT like hugs, and pursues any organism or thing that may give it hugs. This monster is surrounded by mist.

VERY IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION TO ALL FUTURE PARTICIPANTS!
You must give some context/information about your monster in your submission, otherwise I might get the wrong idea and make it behave entirely differently than what was hoped!

Here you go this is my monster entry. When drawing I wanted to make it look like an Ark Survival journal page but I went a bit overboard with it

This is the Masquerade Bug, it is from the same genus or family as the Ambush amd Assassin Bug. It lives in the swamp and it has behavior similar to both of these and a bit of Hermit Crab and hissing cockroach too. In its larval stage it eats the old egg it hatched from, then it molts and grows and its diet gets a bit carnivorous so it eats small wood mites or other miniscule invertebrates. Then it molts again and its more savage so hold onto your puke bags… it targets a mare and crawls towards a foal then stings the foal through the trachea to avoid it chirping or peeping for help and at the same time pimping it full of a toxic digestive enzyme coctail to paralyse and liquify its insides before slurping it up like a soup. Then it hauls the corspe away and empties any remaining insides including bones before crawling inside and wearing it like a suit. The skin suit masks itself with the scent of the foal to not rouse suspicions in the mare and other foals in the litter. The bug will secretly start to slurp up the other foals 1 by 1 under the cover of night (you can imagine how scary it would be for the mare each morning to see a drained dead foal. Another adaptation that the Masquerade Bug has is the breathing holes at the sides of its abdomen can expel air to mimic the sounds of a foal with cooing, chirping and peeping. Normally by the time it finishes the rest of the litter, it will go through the final molt and shed their disguise and needs a bigger source of food which is the mare. The preferred target for its prey is the back of the neck, which exposes the toxic brew of enzymes into the nervous system which if it doesnt kill her straight away, derpification and paralysis are a likely outcome if their organs doesnt turn into soup or starvation, predators etc will end her suffering.
Now that the Masquerade Bug is an adult, it takes a new approach to hunting, its exoskeleton resembles mossy bark to help camouflage and is large enough to prey on adult fluffies. The abdomen developed a glamd that exudes a strange aroma only keen to Fluffy sense of smell which to their brain smells like spaghetti and this is used to draw away foragers or stragglers from the herd. When isolated, the bug will descend from the side of a tree or rotting log or from behind then stings the back of the neck with the syringe-like proboscis and begins to inject the toxic digestive cocktail into the Fluffy. Impeding the Fluffies attempts to fight or flee and its pleas fall on death ears as it is drained into a husk before the Masquerade Bug leaves to hunt again until it gains enoughnutrients to lay eggs scattered in dank areas of the swamp then the cycle begins again.

Sorry I went overboard describing them here  cuz it was fun to do. I hope this creepy critter fits in your swamp too

- The Flufflouse: A Rundown -

From the dark of the swamp, a light beckons. It wriggles and writhes, a glorious golden string of succulence offering delicious respite in this inhospitable land. Skettis on the horizon? A mirage that would fool no creature of natural design.

A shame, then, that Fluffies are not one of natures’ creations. Neither is the Flufflouse, an abomination that is a mockery of a mockery. Standing a head taller than a regular Fluffy, this bizarre creature mimics the silhouette of its prey, but in truth is a bizarre amalgamation of a boar, a mosquito and a leech.

A flufflouse (Flufflice plural) Primarily acts as an ambush predator, submerging itself in silt, mud or undergrowth with its nasal lures extended, wriggling a bioluminescent string that bounces and jiggles in the mist. Its sensitive, oversized tendril-like tongue lays flat underneath these lures, acting as a pressure plate on contact with its victim.

When a foolish fluffy takes that last fatal step onto the tongue, Two writhing leech-like appendages bite deep into a fluffy’s flesh, rending apart fluff with ease. The lamprey jaws then work swiftly to drain the creature of its blood, leaving a withered husk behind in moments which the Flufflouse will then bury, later laying its eggs in to perpetuate its lifecycle.

- Appearance -

Although a flufflouse is superficially similar to a fluffy, it lacks the empathy, kindness and gullibility of the real deal and exhibits a base cunning and cruelty tempered with an extreme level of patience. Flufflice thrive on the artificial blood of their victims and do not derive much if any nutrition from any other creature, making them specialist hunters.

Humans have been known to deploy Flufflice in areas they wish to protect, such as important crops or gardens, but the creatures are impossible to domesticate, require such a specific environment to live and are all-around unpleasant to look at so such usage is uncommon.

Fully emerged, a Flufflouse’s anatomy is perplexing and appears to have originated as a freakish mutation from feral fluffies. The head is covered in fur that is far coarser and shorter than a standard fluffs’, being closer to a boar than a biotoy’s, and two gangly nodules protrude from the front of the head that expand following a bloodmeal.

A Flufflouses’ eyes are shades of bright yellow, green or orange, with tiny slitted pupils and lazy eyelids that betray little emotion. The abdomen is covered in an insectile shell, with two fly-like wings that are largely vestigial - possibly betraying a Pegasus lineage in its origin. Instead of a mane, paper-like fronds flip and wave in the wind, perhaps acting as further camouflage when submerged. The Flufflouse has no tail to speak of, instead having an ovipositor that retracts into the body until required.

Instead of the soft, noodle-like legs of a Fluffy, the Flufflouse has a segmented loose-jointed appendage ending in a suction pad, dexterous enough to manipulate simple objects and strong enough to keep creatures pinned in its grasp.

- Hunting -

Flufflice are primarily ambush hunters, as mentioned above, but occasionally the need to be proactive will arise. Flufflice are independent hunters, only ever teaming up in dire circumstances. If a Flufflouse has to go on the attack, it will slowly patrol through the undergrowth, waving its lure and staying low to the ground while attempting to call out to a victim. A Flufflouse is only capable of mimicking single words such as “Sketties”, “Huggies”, “Wuv”, but in an unsettling cadence that slightly more aware fluffies will recognise as off.

A Flufflouse is only slightly faster than its prey, trundling along at an unimpressive rate, but its better clearance, smoother body and impressive dexterity allows it to navigate rough terrain far better than a fluffy. It has a high pain threshold, but only relative to fluffies - it is easy prey itself for any other creature and only slightly more tenacious when faced with human abusers, facts that are tempered with the knowledge that Flufflice taste disgusting to anything natural and do not react in any particularly entertaining way when harmed.

- Closing -

Flufflice are poorly understood curiosities that may hold some interesting solutions for culling and control of feral fluffy populations, but further monitoring is required to ensure that such mutations do not become commonplace. While fortunate that its behaviour is undoubtedly beneficial for population control, its very existence is alarming - if these creatures can undergo such a drastic change in what is seemingly a blink of an eye, what else may await in the future?
