The jelly fluffies are cool as hell. I think my favorite is Jupiter. One of these fluffies has my actual name!

All so cool! I think my favorite is Lily and Daisy. What kind of subspecies/hybrid are they?

Lily and Daisy are actually another bio pet species called Sweets. They’re basically candy themed goats!

Swift, I think you know that I love your artistic style, and that I appreciate your contributions.

With that said, is it possible that some of these might be straying a bit far from what fluffies actually are intended to be?

Please understand that I don’t want to constrain your creativity, but I have to say that this is very similar to how the jellenheimer tsunami of '21 happened.
And it took us quite a while to recover from that.

For me, I think that Hope has to be my favorite.

Your other designs are absolutely beautiful
but I personally don’t think fluffies should be beautiful, in most cases.

Yeah, I’m aware. This is how I enjoy fluffies. I also don’t particularly post often and just one person posting some unconventional designs every now and then isn’t going to cause a shake up like the click’s videos did. I’m also not really going to do anything with any of these guys except Jupiter either. Its just art of characters from a personal project with friends that I decided to post.

It’s definitely not my place to say that you’re “enjoying fluffies wrong”
And I won’t.

But I will leave a note for the newcomers that are just joining us.

In essence, we are all working from an art prompt that is 15 years old at this time
I imagine the person that first wrote it had no idea what it would eventually blossom into.
(and they’re probably horrified at what it has become)
It is absolutely okay to bend the “rules” of fluffies.
Swift bends the supposed rules.
but if we were to go much further than this, it’s quite liable to get some people up-in-arms about defining what a fluffy is, or what it can be.
Subspecies like these are fine as a one-off. I see nothing wrong with Swift making them.

But the community isn’t likely to respond well to a dozen newcomers trying to make their own jelly fluffs, or sea lion fluffs, and trying to make them The Next Big Thing.

Most of us should probably first get acquainted with what regular, generic fluffies are before taking a hammer to the guidelines.

Swift, carry on making beautiful things.

I agree on the subspecies thing, it’s a bad thing to start out with especially without knowing the basics and it’s really easy to get lost when creating one and end up with something a little too far removed from fluffies. They’re for sure interesting, especially when well thought out and it’s neat seeing what people make, but, nothing will top the original. It’ definitely is best to just stick to the basics for most.

I never really intended for my Slime fluffies or Sweets to be anything but part of the world building when I made them. They’re mostly just a side effect of the rise of bio pets/toys/tools and the demand that would come with that. Other companies deciding to cash in on the opportunity and try and ride the wave of fluffies. They make the world more interesting and feel a bit more fleshed out.

Cool! Where can I learn more about those?

I don’t currently have anything written on them but I can tell you about them if you’d like

Sweets were made by taking Fluffy DNA and fiddling with the genes to try and create a more “high end” version of them but they never got as popular as fluffies due to the rather odd placement of their mouths and the fact that fluffies tend to react negatively to them when first meeting. That was something the company tried to fix but every time they managed to get the right placement a new, even worse problem would arise so they just went with it. In the end, they aren’t too different to fluffies, still speaking with the same lisp and having very similar personalities and levels of intelligence. They do have slightly more exaggerated mannerisms though to come off more cutesy and make up for the creepy neck mouth.

They’re always candy themed and smell like their assigned candy. Daisy and Lily are butterscotch, the pink and blue one is cotton candy, the orange one is orange, the brown spotted one is M&Ms, and the black one is licorice.

Wait they’re super cute. Do ferals exist? Are there any “problems” with this species like BMS, SBS, smarty syndrome, etc?

Do you intend for there to be abuse of these guys or did creating them have a different intention?
