Take Flight P2 (love2hatefluffs)

Part 1 here

In 5 minute spurts spaced widely apart, I finally drew the next part of this. Work should slow up for me next week so maybe more soon. I’m thinking some quick one-off comics or single panels are in the immediate future. Until then though…

Missy has gone through the last of her toughest two weeks with her last litter of foals. Her focus can turn to the winged baby that caught her eye…

Paranoia and trauma may make motherhood difficult, especially for a mother who has never had to raise a foal beyond a few weeks. A protective mother might do anything to make sure her baby lives as comfortably as possible.

The ending “ptoo” is so ridiculous XD

I really hope the owner sees how friggin incredible and lucrative this foal is, a Pegasus that can ACTUALLY fly means excellent genetics, so breeding is a forgone conclusion imo

Every parent has that thought after a consecutive number of nights with little sleep day in and out. The trick is to realize you are having those thoughts and stop yourself before you do something you regret.

This is so good!
This is lovely and also adds a lot for the future of the story. Missy is still traumatized with the idea of “fly poopies” so that would probably give her more problems with her foal. Which is already traumatized about thinking his own mother tried to eat him.
Talking about the foal, this is the first time I see a pegasus “fly”, this would create an scenario where the owner seeing him flying while pooping and fascinated by his capacity takes it to take care of him while Missy thinks his baby is going to be punish.
I also think it could be a jelousy factor where we see the owner caring and loving more the foal than Missy while she is upset and mad because the baby is taking her owner´s atention, even when the same owner said he didn´t like “fly poopies”
I was really looking forward to see part 2, now I´m excited with how is going to continue.

If a fluffy begins to fly, does that show signs of evolution or is it just considered a genetic freak of nature?

Also kudos to that mom, With some fluffy mamas, they end up accidentally eating, their kid this one not only cleaned her kid gently, but also showed the sign of discipline

That’s an excellent question.

Let’s subject it to brutal and rigorous experimentation and find out!

You say that and yet I can’t help but feel she’s still going to screw this up somehow.

Those gens are not going to pass to the next generation. We can agree with that.

It’ll give short-term profits. The consequences of doing so will come quickly after.

Is this a subspecies? Their wings look a lot bigger and stronger than a typical pegasus.

thats a good momma, but wait until someone swats the flying baby with a fly swatter after seeing it do a fly poopie

So it is actually flying or just gliding

I think is gliding, flying implies a prolongated time where the animal is suspended in the air. We could say is more like a chicken, which are capable to launch themselve in the air and glide a little but not fly.
