If it’s cold, have the room heated by a single, small radiator glowing hot.
If it’s hot, have an unshielded fan moving the air around.
Candles.
Lead-painted toys.
Automatic litterbox that flushes and replaces the sand on a timer without checking if it’s currently in use.
Plastic bags.
Get some young foals. Give them a massive water dispenser filled with milk, more milk they could ever drink, but it’s expiring soon. It definitely sours before they can eat solids, so they have to choose between hunger and increasingly icky/dangerous milk.
Sketties laced with narcotics. You “run low” on sketties and can only give it to them in rotations at increasingly distant intervals (every meal - once a day - every other day). Don’t separate the groups during feeding, and let the jittery f***s deal with it on their own.
