Abandoned Angel
Part 15: One Big Happy…

Robert didn’t know what to think. It’s been about a month since he gained a pet. Or was that family member? Or was “toy” a better description? He’s already had that discussion with his girlfriend. Girlfriend? Friend with benefits? Psycho abuse bitch? Far too many things in his life have become less cut and dry. He ran a hand through his grey speckled brown hair. It wasn’t uncommon to start getting some grey in your thirties, don’t judge!

Mary smiled at him. She was cute, petite, blonde and blue eyed. She was also a former fluffy abuser. Former? I guess last week makes it former, he thought. Semantics. And she’d argue, she was good at that. That was a discussion for another day.

Just a month ago he came home from work to find a dying fluffy pony on his door step. She was a tiny ball of dark blue with wings. A deep green tail and mane. It was cold and she was nearly dead. He saved her. Maybe it was meant to be. He did take a chance and skipped out early from work. Had he put in his full time, Angel would have been a former fluffy, shuffling off this mortal coil.
He fed her by hand. He washed her. He returned her to life. She loved to play. She loved her “daddeh.” She turned into a good fluffy, for the most part. He turned into a good fluffy owner, for the most part. Another debatable issue. Robert did put socks on his fluffy and let her loose on the wooden floors. She ended up a bit bloody and crying, but damn, was that ever funny. That was just good fun.

She did have a jealous streak. At the time they only had each other, so that was to be expected. What wasn’t expected was after a night of drinking and having relations with Mary that Angel would get upset. Upset enough to spray Mary with angry smelly shit. He beat Angel for that, beat each hoof bloody and broken with the sorry stick. Who would’ve thought that would’ve sparked a weird relationship.

Mary knew about fluffies. She said she had fluffies before. Maybe she has them still, he never bothered to ask and had not been to her house yet. But she talked, passionately, about fluffies. She knew her stuff. From hugbox to torture. It concerned Robert, he never thought about abusing these balls of loving fuzzy fur. Discipline and punishment were one thing, torture was another. It wasn’t illegal, most communities actively encouraged the behavior, it just never intrigued Robert.

Not even a week ago Mary came over and helped him properly outfit his safe room. She must’ve had this planned. And here he was now, standing in his safe room with this crazy woman that brought him and his fluffy a present. Present was her word. She really thought she did something nice for him. Angel loved it, thought. She was a really nice fluffy and loved any gift.

Mary had brought over three week and a half old foals. All male. All crippled.

Robin: A bright pink Pegasus with a red mane and tail. Robin was dumb, he couldn’t talk.

Bright: A bright yellow earth foal with a blue mane and tail. Bright was deaf.

Brave: A monochrome red unicorn. Brave was blind.

Three foals played on the big fluffy bed. They climbed and jumped on top of Angel, lots of happy babbling filled the room. Mary smiled at the new family. “Rob, they look so happy.”

He sighed, she was right, they were getting along wonderfully. He watched as Angel shoved each one to the litter box. Brave had the hardest time as he had to find his way by smell. Well, smell would make it easier to find, Robert a sick realization. He knew that Brave would have a hard time navigating the house, just how well were fluffies at navigating in the dark? Could they remember the layout of the house?

“They do look happy.” He gave Angel a weak smile, “You guys stay in here, today. There is plenty of food for the night and plenty of toys.”

“Yesh, daddeh! Angel wub fwends! Gif wots of huggies!”

The door closed as Angel was giving the foals hugs, proclaiming them all “gud babbehs!”

Angel ignored the hoomins, she had new friends! FRIENDS! FWENDS! She had a herd now. A fluffy family! She was so happy! She bounded from the bed and started running, the pain from her rear hooves mattered little, she was so happy! “PWAY! Wets pway!”

The little fluffies chased her. They tried at least. Robin and Bright kept close, bouncing and tumbling behind Angel. Brave, well, he couldn’t keep up. Unable to see he would stumble into blocks and stuffed animals and the balls all scattered about the room. After each stumble he’d sit, his ears twitching and would dash towards the sound. He was so eager to play but kept getting left behind. Brave tumbled and squeaked out, “BWAVE NU WIKE PWAY!” He plopped down, his pudgy fluffy body breathing heavily.

Angel skidded to a halt, Robin and Bright tumbled past her. “Bwave? Wan huggies?” She knew he couldn’t see, she knew it was always dark time for him. But she couldn’t comprehend how. How was it dark time all the time and he wasn’t sleeping? Wasn’t that forever sleepies? Brave tilted his head, his ears twitching. He sat up, looking around, without seeing. “Bwave, ober hewe.” His ears twitched again. He was seeing with his earies!

Brave took a step, and another. Every step deliberate and planned as if walking a mine field. A mine field of blocks and balls and stuffed toys. Each obstacle he would pause, his ears flicking about and his nose scrunching, finding his way by sound and smell.

“Bwave gud fwuffy!” Angel exclaimed as he reached her.

“Bwave nu wike tu wun.” He said, his voice sad. “Wots of owies.”

Angel gave him a hug, “Bwave gud fwuffy, how yu find Angel?”

Brave squirmed from her grip and started pawing at her swishing tail, “Nu know.” He sniffed at her fur and batted at her tail some more, his ears twitching at the sounds of his brothers playing. Angel pulled herself away from him and returned with a small stuffed bear. He latched onto it fiercely, rolling and chirping, “Wub toy!” Obviously happy again.

A sad look crossed her fluffy face, she didn’t know how to play with Brave. He couldn’t see so he couldn’t run. He couldn’t see so he couldn’t play ball. This was harder than she expected! She could see Bright and Robin pushing a ball back and forth with their hooves and noses. She felt sad for Brave as she watched him roll around with the stuffed animal.

Suddenly the room turned on its side! Robin and Bright had tackled her! “Wan Pway!” Bright yelled. Not being able to hear, Bright didn’t know how to control his volume. Bright, having lost his hearing at such a young age he did not develop the full typical vocabulary so most of the time he resorted to chirping like a baby fluffy. When he did talk it almost sounded like he was talking with something in his mouth, it confused Angel, since the only thing in his mouth was his tongue! They rolled around and she took off running again, they had so much energy!

Robin chased after Angel, but he didn’t want to play, he needed to make peepee, and was so lost in this new room! It was fully of toys and he was so very confused. He tried to ask his new friend, the one everyone called Angel, but he couldn’t. Every time he opened his mouth he could only make a horrible gurgling chirp. Angel and Bright kept running around pushing a ball back and forth, he couldn’t get their attention!

Bright and Angel kept playing! She really liked playing with Bright! “Angel wub pwaying baww wif Bwight!” Bright didn’t answer, he just bounced back and forth pushing the ball towards the wall, not Angel. “Bwight, push baww tu Angel!” He didn’t answer. He just kept running and pushing the ball around the room, bouncing it off the blocks. “Bwight!” She was getting frustrated, she wanted to play! But he didn’t answer.

I love how you get a peek into her childish mind making the connections. Back before everything was logical and it could be anything
