So there was a discussion earlier about how much you can change a fluffy and still have it be a fluffy.

Are anthros still fluffies? What about satyrs? Breezies? Hellgremlins?

What about hategoats? What are your thoughts? When does a fluffy stop being a fluffy to you?

Spoilers

For the record: I don’t think hategoats are fluffies :joy:

My thoughts upon laying eyes upon that thing.

Good question. I’ve not really pondered the range/spectrum yet nor what exceptions I’d be okay with. I’ll have to ponder it. A big thing is whether it’s the norm versus exceptions for protagonists/antagonists.

It could be because I’m pretty new to this fluffy stuff, but I’m kind of a purist. I know there isn’t any official canon or rules, but the more established tropes and setting are what I like about fluffies. So, as far as types, I definitely like standard classic the best. As far as other ones I consider “real” fluffies in my preferred headcanon, I would limit it to micros, sea fluffies, and those weird Fuzzy Ponies. I am also ok with those designer fluffy “subtypes” where they have some special color or slightly different proportions.

I tend to be less interested in fluffy versions of other animals, such as this. And I’m really not a fan of the anthro stuff. I’m not here for furries. And definitely not for porn.

I’d have to ask: purist to when? There seems to have been arguable eras to them.

Holy shit

I had never seen the original text before. They had me weeping with laughter.

Thanks for enlightening me, OC. This is a great companion piece to an amazing pair of shorts.

A good point. And, truthfully, I don’t know. What I’m calling “normal” is largely based on what I see the most. For the most part, what I mean is I like normal, horse fluffies. I’m not actually quite as entertained by the sea fluffies, but they seem to get drawn quite often and by a many artists, so they seemed “established”.

Those horns look perfect! ( grabs horns. swings up, then slams hellspawn into floor. walls. anything close by until it’s a pile of grue and shredded meat. )

If the fundamentals are still there, they’re still fluffies.

Nice! I considered drawing up the hategoats at one time, and it’s awesome that you went ahead and did it!

The only thing I don’t like about the hategoats is that Foxhoarder openly states that the last part is a parody of Star Struck, the comic I made a while back. But then, parody is a form of flattery.

They’re kind of like dragons to me. How many legs does a dragon have? Does it have wings or not? The answer to both questions is that it depends on the writer.

I forgot about that part!

Yeah, I’d definitely have mixed feelings if someone made a derivative work off of Henrietta’s story or Hickory.

on the bad side, you have a evil little imp that would love to ruin your life.
on the good side, this is a fluffy that can speak like a human being.
so i guess is a 50-50.
