You’re name is Soul and you have just been approached by a puffy griffin named Jay. He says to be apart of an knightly order called the Order Of Talon and was sent from Chicago to come find you and you’re family. during the initial invasion of Chicago half of the order was killed and because of that the order began negotiations with Sarina leader of the One Great Herd and try to convince her to join but the negotiations have fallen apart and Jay says if me and my family don’t help they be overrun. I thought about it until deciding ill help after thinking that if the order is overrun the Reborn could very well invade my home next or what Jay calls it Detroit. After some talking Merlin had came in saying something about a ship attached to a balloon but after seeing us Merlin understandably was shocked even started to run for a bit calling Jay a munstah. Before I was able to stop him by telling him Jay wasn’t a threat than once we were back inside. Jay proceeded to tell Merlin the same info he told me with Merlin being a lot more skeptical only seeming to reluctantly agree to come when money was brought up and me explaining how if Chicago falls Motor could be next. After we talked Merlin left said he was going to get Monica and Willy and break the news and a few minutes later they were here Monica in disbelief while Willy was in complete fascination. I had no idea if Monica was going to join us. I knew Willy was he always volunteers to come anywhere me, Merlin or Monica go. But curious for an answer from Monica I ask her.
“Monica wiww 'ou go comin? souw undewstands if 'ou wish not to it sounds wike a wawzone out dewe.” Monica looks at me for a few seconds before speaking. “Nu wowwy am comin’ Souw these peopwe nee’ hewp an’ monica doesn’t hab to go back in at weast a monff.” As Monica was talking Willy attempted to put his hoof on Jay’s beak once he noticed he spoke “can you please not do that thank you.” Willy speaks “'ou speak funny Wiwwy wikes 'ou!” Merlin chimes in “yeah what’s up wiff that it’s weiwdin’ Mewwin out.” Jay speaks “To be honest I don’t know to be honest it’s just the way we talk I guess.” Jay shrugs than speaks again. “Ok then everyone has agreed to join I thank you all once you all prepared and said you’re goodbyes come outside as ill be there and we can leave.” I gather both my and Merlin’s things while Merlin goes to speak with Benezi about his leave of absence. Monica and Willy prepare there stuff as well once we have all prepared we meet each other in the exit it was a strange walk though Green Roof looked a lot more empty than usual and once we got outside we understood why.
Outside was a giant wooden ship but that wasn’t the strangest part the ship was connected to a giant white balloon and was floating! The crowd was looking in confusion and shock the crowd looked like it numbered in hundreds it was pretty hard to move but once you got there you saw Jay surrounded by other knights and he spoke “Ready! It shouldn’t take us that long to get to Chicago come aboard!” We all climbed aboard helped by some knights than Jay spoke. “If the weather is fair we should be in Chicago by next morning. Oh heads up Captain SkyClaw is coming be respectful!” Suddenly SkyClaw appeared they had red feathers with an with a grey fur coat and were wearing light armor under a black leather overcoat with a black captains hat. Once stopping they looked at us than looked and spoke to Jay “Are these the fluffies Knight?” SkyClaw said with an unimpressed tone Jay spoke. “Yes Ma’am!” Than SkyClaw looked at us. “I’m going to make this simple Knight Jay is going to escort you to you’re room and you are not to leave until instructed overwise do you understand!” It was quiet for a few seconds before all 4 of us all nodded in synch than SkyClaw spoke. “Ok then Jay bring them to their room.” SkyClaw started to leave heading into the direction of the bridge than after a few seconds Jay spoke “Come follow me”
We went down into the hull of the ship the halls were crammed with there being multiple rooms. Puffies were going in and out not all were soldiers a good portion of them were engineers, janitors, cooks all the staff needed to keep a place like this running. Jay stopped at a door and opened it once we got inside looking around the room was small there were multiple bunks but that was it there was also a small window looking outside. we began putting down our things once I finished I sat in one of the bunks than after a few seconds I heard the sound of a loud horn looking out the window I saw the sun setting and the ship started going up with Green Roof getting smaller and smaller the higher we went Jay saw me looking out and spoke. “I remember my first time on this thing believe me when I say this Soul you ain’t going to forget it!” The others started sitting down as well with the only one not being Willy who once I got away from the window he started looking out. Jay who was now sitting spoke “So tell me what’s you’re story? like I know that you’re pretty powerful but how did this group come to be?” Merlin speaks explaining all that had gone on since I first left that sewer months ago Jay speaks “damn wow that’s one hell of a story Soul I’m sorry about what happened to you’re family.” Merlin speaks “hey Jay teww us about youw wife what’s am stowy?” Jay speaks as he starts taking off his armor “You see I was born around 9 years ago. My Ma and Pa were in the order so I was in when I was born. I spent a lot of my younger years training. And once I came of age I was given my Knighthood and started going on missions with a sense of hoping to improve the world. And to say I saw a lot of weird stuff would be an understatement you see Chicago it’s not like here something about that city seems cursed if I have to say. while Detroit looks mostly intact Chicago even before the invasion was in rough shape with most of the buildings being just rubble the streets crawling with all sorts of nasty critters and during the winter you could barley walk outside without freezing to death.” As jay finishes he takes off the last piece of armor I noticed that underneath the armor Jay had a pretty muscular frame and I wasn’t the only one it seemed as Merlin who was now laying down was trying not to look at Jay but when I saw him staring I saw he had a faint blush. I felt like rolling my eyes but was feeling to tired so laying down I went to sleep.
Monica was the one to wake me up “Souw Souw get up wewe hewe! dey towd us to get on dah deck.” As I was getting my bearings I noticed the others had already left upstairs so getting my things me and Monica went up. Once we got up In noticed the others looking out so when I did let’s just say Jay wasn’t lying when he said the city was in rough shape. Looking up the place looked like a warzone there were no plants and it was cloudy I could see smoke and fire rising from the ruins there were a few old buildings still standing but it looked like total chaos and anarchy down below. As I was looking I heard the same horn and we started to go down and Jay spoke to all of us “Were heading to one of the few puffy settlements the place is called Swab it’s where our main headquarters is. Follow me and don’t bother the locals believe me you’ll regret it.” As the ship finally come down on solid ground and we got off following Jay and a few Knights I noticed how bad this place looked it was a pretty large city all around me there were puffies that looked sick and injured some even missing limbs and some were looking at us with angry expressions or just staring. There were some market stalls selling goods and guards walking about and the place just had a feeling of hopelessness to it. After some more time walking we arrived at the headquarters of the Order it was the largest building still intact with a metal sign of the symbol of the order on it and was several stories high and once we got to the entrance we went inside.
The building compared to the rest of Swab looked clean and organized following Jay we went up some stairs and turned right where we were stopped by two guards in heavy armor I couldn’t hear Jay but he pointed to us and one of the guards nodded and we were allowed to pass. Inside the large room was a fireplace and a puffy sitting down by it he was wearing armor but it looked a lot more grand and ceremonial than everyone else’s he was an older gentleman who had fading yellow feathers with a blueish grey coat. Than Jay bowed to him and spoke “Grandmaster Torres I brought to you the fluffies you requested!” Torres spoke " Congratulations Knight Jay or now Knight Lieutenant Jay you done us a great service." Jay speaks getting up from his bowing position. “Thank you Sir. Now that these hero’s are here could you tell us what you actually wanted us to do?” Torres starts speaking as he walks to a window. “I was just getting to that. You see while I was reorganizing some old documents around a year ago I found a letter from my predecessor Grandmaster EagleFly in that letter he wrote something interesting… You see back when he was a young knight he and a squad ventured into the heart of the city and discovered a weapon he called it. something he said was horrible and powerful he was pretty vague in the letter but still gave the location of this weapon.” Jay speaks “In the heart of Chicago Sir that’s suicide even with all these warriors that place is a hellscape!” Torres speaks “We don’t have that many options Jay this weapon might be our only hope but I trust you’re skills of you and these fine warriors can bring me this weapon?” Jay sighs than speaks. “Ok fine where is this weapon located?” Torres speaks “The place this weapon is located is called Hasbio Midwest.” Fin
