“These monstews couwdn’t hit us if dewe wibes depended on-”
[The last words of the Nickel city Border commander, Mow. Before being shot by a Pandemon catapult and being killed instantly.]
We started approaching Nickel city, dozens of ships all traveling together. It was a pretty calm journey all things considered, with even some games and singing amongst the crew and us as we tried to lighten the mood. as I looked on at first we thought we saw a heavy fog, with us going barely able to see. But it made no sense though!? It was a clear early summer day and no rain or storms had been seen in over a week! Than I realized… This wasn’t fog, it was smoke and ash. Now being the first to arrive at the docks of the city, we get off and begin walking, looking for anyone. But at first there was not a single sign of life anywhere, than as we passed the dock gate and headed into a residential district we could hear screaming. And I see a woman and two children running as fast as they could, and behind them I see four flying winged creatures clouded by smoke but chasing her. The woman who now saw us yells out, as take out our weapons.
“HEWP!”
One of the guards with us speaks as the woman passes us, and the winged creatures start emerging from the smoke.
“WHAT DAH FUCK AM THAT!”
We finally got a good look at them, and the creatures eerily resembled the Green Roof Monster. There were some differences Though, firstly they were a lot smaller and skinnier, with them being around the same size as us. And there was also the fact they didn’t wear any disguise, but instead some sort of nasty looking black leathery armor, with there swords and axes covered in fresh blood. One of the monsters speaks, with it having a surprisingly high pitched voice.
“Oh, look boy’s! We got us some of those normal ones, let’s tear em!”
They fall to the ground, raising there weapons and Charles speaks, trying his best to mask his growing fear.
“Suwwendew, NAO!”
Another one of them laughs as they charge at us, and a battle begins.
The first the there strikes were heavy and savage, and with us not fighting for months it was a desperate fight. The monster I was fighting kept swinging his sword over and over, with me barely being able to dodge his attacks, than finally after around 5 dodges he had struck me in the right arm. I fall back in pain as it starts to bleed out, he laughs as he begins walking over speaking as he does.
“You’re head is going to look so pretty on a pike!”
He starts to cackle, and now feeling my adrenaline skyrocket I raise Durandal and begin to attack. At first he was caught off guard, with me even able to get a strike to his lower chest and causing him to scream. As we continued to trade strikes, I felt him getting more and more frantic, until finally he made a mistake by trying to raise his sword. With a quick swing I was able to strike deep into his chest and doing that he let out one final horrible screech before falling to the ground dead. Going over to the others I quickly help them kill the other monsters with my unit luckily only having minor cuts and bruises. Than I looked to see the rest of the army starting to arrive, with the docks now looking extremely crowded. Than finally came the woman, I started approaching her with me putting away my weapon and trying to have a calm expression, I speak to her.
“Miss we am not goin’ to huwt 'ou. Can 'ou teww us whewe ebewyone am, we am hewe to hewp.”
She is still in a state of panic and after a few seconds speaks quickly.
“Dewe aww undewgwound!”
Nodding I speak again.
“An’ dah Nickew City guawd?”
She speaks.
“I think dewe stiww defendin’ dah gate.”
I speak with me giving a light smile.
“Fank 'ou. Head obah to dah docks, dewe ‘ou an’ am famiwy wiww be kept safe.”
As I turn around I could see several guards gawking around the dead monsters, with them having faces of both shock and confusion. Than as I travel throughout the soldiers, I meet up with the commander of this operation, Edwin. He was a middle aged Pegasus stallion with a red coat and white mane, with him also being from Bomber Bay. Edwin was starting to make his way over to the corpses when he saw me, and spoke as he did.
“'Ou shouwd hab waited!”
I speak.
“Weww we needed to scout out dah situation! Dah Nickew city guawd am defendin’ dah gate, it’s peopwe seem to be undewgwound. We nee’ to get dewe at once!”
As we begin making our way to the gate, the devastation was obvious… Almost every building had some sort of damage with it not seeming clear at first how it was caused but soon after I started thinking why we got our answer, flying rocks? Somehow these monsters were throwing these rocks and causing them to hit the buildings. They must have thrown a lot if things were this damaged. As we got closer and closer to the gate we started hearing the sounds of chaos and combat and soon we arrived at the gate, it still standing (Barely) and the Nickel city guard looking at us in complete astonishment.
“We am fwom Motow, we hab weceibed am wequest fo’ aid!”
Edwin said as we started getting to the wall and he spoke again looking at the still shocked bat ponies.
“Whewe am am commandew!?”
Finally one of the bat ponies speaks.
“He got his head destwoyed by a catapuwt!”
Edwin speaks clearing his voice.
“Den Edwin wiww officiawwy be takin’ obew, nu wet them fwooh dis gate!”
For the next 30 minutes we hold the gate, with me and my unit doing our best to fortify the area and me seeing flying monsters occasionally come down to harass or even rip open soldiers. than as things seemed like they reached a boiling point… It went quiet? There was absolutely no noise coming from the other side, with it seeming like they just up and vanished. A bat pony guard started going up to the gate, checking to see what was going on than. BLAM! The gate exploded into a million pieces, with a large black figure using it’s body as a ram, turning the bat pony guard into paste. It was complete chaos, monsters started swarming in and a battle began. Me, Reverend and my unit tried our best to fight off the horde, than as we fought we heard a heavy thump behind us and we turned around. That was when we saw him… The Green Roof monster looking right at us, he was wearing black spiked metal armor that was covered in the remains of the gate and the guard. His expression being of both pain and pure unfiltered sadism, finally he spoke. Licking his lips of what seemed to be pieces of dead bat ponies, looking right at me.
“Seems like we finally meet again. I will make you bleed for what you did to me at Green Roof. Strangle you with you’re own organs, the years of preparation wasted! So say goodbye, Biotoy…”
He gives a low disturbing laugh as he raises a Warhammer, and charges right at us. Fin
