I got to admit, I rather enjoy the concept of “Special Babies”. It is an interesting addition to headcanons that has a lot of avenues for fluffy adorableness, abuse, or sadbox.

I think thay comes down to your point of view.
A lot of people say they see anger in his remaining eye, but wonder whether the anger is directed at the abuser/situation; or at himself for not being worthy if a good home.
Its left open to interpretation, with the irony being that it was a detail turbine added unintentionally.
