You bastards worked hard all year on some really amazing content, and the community voted. Some of these polls were absurdly close, like holy shit.
Just real quick, I wanna shout out @SqueakyFriend for all of the art for these awards! Squeaks, you fuckin’ killed it, thanks a ton!
The Golden Hammer Award, Best in Abuse 
Abusers really came out strong this year. We had a ton of nominees from artists new and old. Not to mention, abuse was by far our most popular category. We present this golden hammer (gently used) to the users whose works were considered the cream of the crop.
2024’s best abuse art was… FIRST STEPS by @FwuffySadist666! This was Sadist’s biggest work of the year, and it definitely shows his growth throughout his time with us. Gotta hand it to Sadist, despite his occasional off-color comments about orange toothless shitrats he knows what the fuck he’s doing.
2024’s best abuse story was… BAD MUMMAH by @FluffyChimera! Chimera was a strong choice overall this year. I believe they received more nominations than any other user. They’re nothing if not prolific, and their work on Bad Mummah shows they know how to kick not just one fluffy, but a box full of them.
The Golden Heart Award, Best in Hugbox 
2024 was a good year for hugbox even though hugboxers have had it too good for too long kek. We had no shortage of choices for the hugbox category this year, but we can’t give everyone an award because the real world ain’t hugbox! In fact, we’re only handing out one! Yeah, you fuckers saw this coming.
2024’s best hugbox art AND story were… RAISING RAINBOW by @FluffyChimera! I mean yeah come the fuck on, who’s shocked here? It won 58% of the hugbox story vote for fuck’s sake. Raising Rainbow has captured the attention of a helluva lot of users, and while it’s got a lot of the new-era polish you can see tons of booru-era story beats shine through.
The Golden Tombstone Award, Best in Sadbox 
“Life sucks, then you die.” -Stephen King
It takes a true master of the craft to nail down a fluffy to a 2x4 that perfect balance of bitterness and desolation that make sadbox just so enjoyable. This year didn’t suck quite as much as some years in previous memory, but I’ll be damned if it didn’t suck for the fluffies. And for that, we have two talented individuals to thank before promptly asking if they need to talk about anything.
2024’s best sadbox art was… BOWL FLUFFY ADOPTION by @The-Master-Butcher! This is a perfect piece of sadbox because it just strings you along… through all of the good times… and then… bloop! Fluffy pony drowns! The buildup is really something special, it makes you forget this is gonna be sadbox. The adoption, the sliding, the feel-good bits are all there… and there goes the adopted foal. Doomed due to the instincts of its adoptive mother.
2024’s best sadbox story was… FIDGET TOY by @PeppermintParchment! Holy fucking Jesus. This story presented a completely unique take on an old idea: fluffies as service animals. But what if the person the fluffy is supposed to help just doesn’t care about that fluffy? What if it keeps it sealed away in the dark constantly, only seeing the light of day to be fed or used as a stress toy until its fluff falls out and its flesh scabs over? Then, you have Fidget Toy. I can’t imagine voting for anything else… unless you’re me. I voted for my own story. But Fidget Toy deserves it far more.
The Golden Jester Award, Best in Weirdbox 
This category, fittingly, had the weirdest possible turnout. Both categories had a tie. That’s right, both categories fucking tied. So, the staff discussed it and said “Fuck it, makes sense. Give four awards.” So that’s what we’re doing!
2024’s best weirdbox arts (is arts a word?) were… FLUFF SNAPS by @The-Master-Butcher and THE FLUFFY by @anon73555005! I love both of these for different reasons. Butcher’s concept of snap fluffies is a really fun one, snaps were a favorite childhood gag of mine around July 4th. Fluffies exploding is always fun, and it’s well-illustrated here. As for Cuppa’s reimagining of The Fly… wtf lmao. The faces are fucking slaughtering me even still. And the tiny stubby fluffy legs on the human man. How did you come up with this? I fucking love Cuppa’s art style so I might be a bit partial, but… fucking lol. This is amazing.
2024’s best weirdbox stories were… RETAIL IS HELL ON EARTH by @Maple and YES AM MAWE by @Za! Maple’s depiction of the abject fucking misery of retail is spot on (source: have worked retail, would prefer suicide to going back). The fluffy handled the entire situation better than I would’ve, and Milky pulling “I AM THE MANAGER” fucking split my sides. I want an entire cinematic universe regarding fluffies in stores immediately. As for Yes Am Mawe… look, it’s my story, thank you for all of the votes. Seriously, thank you. I’m not gonna sit here and fellate myself with kind words like every other weiner winner because that’s just gay. I wanted to write a pride month story, but I fucking hate pride month, so I said “Hmm… trans-trender stereotype fluffy? Trans-trender stereotype fluffy. AND MAKE IT OFFENSIVE!” and then I wrote the story. The end. Thank you again for the votes, I still think it’s fucking hilarious. RIP Kurt AKA Miss Pretty Mare Lady.
The Golden Paintbrush, Best New Artist 
We’ve got talent coming and going like the revolving door of a gay strip club, but one newcomer stood above the rest. They’ve quickly rooted their way into our community and found themselves right in their element.
2024’s best new artist is… @FluffyChimera! To… very little surprise, imo. Y’all niggas ate up Raising Rainbow so I figured this would end up going this way. I won’t deny, Chimera’s general style is a bit too soft for my own tastes but what I can’t deny is their raw fuckin’ talent. Dude is a master at work, and what can I say? They’ve earned it.
The Golden Quill, Best New Author 
You know what? This author needs no introduction. Imma let numbers speak for themselves. With the exception of hugbox, every other category was won with about 20% of the popular vote, maybe 30%. THIS MOTHERFUCKER WON 64% OF THE VOTES FOR THIS CATEGORY. SIXTY FUCKING FOUR PERCENT. If that doesn’t tell you all you need to know, I don’t know what will.
2024’s best new author is… @Poopiest_of_bebbehs! I mean, dude, Poopiest is just a machine. Dude pumps out content like nothing I’ve ever seen, and you know what? That doesn’t make them special. Anyone can pump out slop. But what makes Poopiest different is HE DON’T MISS! I have never read a Poopiest_of_bebbehs story I did not enjoy. And as you all already know, I have superior taste so that should definitely count for something. Nah, jokes aside, this mf does numbers and it’s always good. They’ve earned this award and the massive margins they won it by.
