Rambo Color (AMDk7)

Version with out “highlights” thanks to @Virga who made me realize I hadn’t merged anything yet so i could manaually erase the colors

So I decided to try digital coloring after getting my hands on Manga Studio 4 and a ancient Wacom Tablet.
This is the result , after a first go around.
The “highlighting” is non optional.

I was messing around with a different shade of blue and layers and found out to late that I was coloring the base image.
CTRL Z can only do so much, so instead of trashing several hours of work, I had to improvise.
So there it is to stab you in to occularies.

Special thanks to
@Pink
@Tia
and @Chikahiro for their advice.

Thanks
This isn’t his final form …err color yet
I was just messing around in a “oooh what does this button do ?” fashion.
That’s how I ended up with “highlights”.

Once I get the hang of this I’ll settle down on his actual color scheme.

I felt that to my core

Been there too I see .
I managed to “salvage” it but those “highlights” you see wont come off.

Least i didn’t grab the wrong marker on the real pencil art.
That has happened before.

Those moments when you have to scrap the whole lineart because you drew it on sketch layer, those poor colors that had to die because you accidentally merged wrong layers… Those are the pains every digital artist knows :pensive: amen

…Hold on.
You just gave me an idea to salvage this thing.
I havent merged the layers yet.
So maybe its possible for me to manually delete these lines

Well thanks to you its been salvaged.
The colors are very flat still but i don’t have forced highlights anymore.

Oh don’t worry, you don’t even want to see my very first digital art, it was horrible  but with some time you’ll get better. I still have a long journey before I get to some good level, but it’s fun. Beginnings are always hard

We wil see I suppose.
What you see there is the result of a day of futzing around.
Followed by “I can stack layers and get different effects”.

Highlights are stil beyond me though, they always feel a bit haphazard.

It always amuses me how artists are like “this is very rushed”, “I didn’t know what I was doing”, etc, and then there is me, thinking “dude, this is awesome”.

Yeah, but for artists its different.
All we see is the mistakes and what we did wrong.

And i did struggle to get to grips with MS 4
Still am actually.
But I guess this isn’t a bad result for all of the 48 hours I own the software and tablet.

…or maybe it just shows how simple MS 4 really is.
