So I decided to try digital coloring after getting my hands on Manga Studio 4 and a ancient Wacom Tablet.
This is the result , after a first go around.
The “highlighting” is non optional.
I was messing around with a different shade of blue and layers and found out to late that I was coloring the base image.
CTRL Z can only do so much, so instead of trashing several hours of work, I had to improvise.
So there it is to stab you in to occularies.
Thanks
This isn’t his final form …err color yet
I was just messing around in a “oooh what does this button do ?” fashion.
That’s how I ended up with “highlights”.
Once I get the hang of this I’ll settle down on his actual color scheme.
Those moments when you have to scrap the whole lineart because you drew it on sketch layer, those poor colors that had to die because you accidentally merged wrong layers… Those are the pains every digital artist knows amen
Oh don’t worry, you don’t even want to see my very first digital art, it was horrible but with some time you’ll get better. I still have a long journey before I get to some good level, but it’s fun. Beginnings are always hard
It always amuses me how artists are like “this is very rushed”, “I didn’t know what I was doing”, etc, and then there is me, thinking “dude, this is awesome”.
Yeah, but for artists its different.
All we see is the mistakes and what we did wrong.
And i did struggle to get to grips with MS 4
Still am actually.
But I guess this isn’t a bad result for all of the 48 hours I own the software and tablet.
…or maybe it just shows how simple MS 4 really is.
